Classic Drinks package

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Here is a pdf of the current drink packages offered by Celebrity which shows at the top the value level of the beverages by package. Celebrity does not break it down further by individual drinks. The packages are based on the brands and associated value of the different alcohols included, with the Classic being more limited and primarily "well" brands and the Premium more extensive and primarily premium brands.  Package prices will vary by sailing, sales offered, and purchase timing.

It doesn't work that way. Any cocktail that can be made from the brands included in the package would be included. There are no specific included cocktails and no specific restrictions. All cocktails mixed are based on the brands provided in the packages.  And if a certain brand beverage is need for a cocktail you want is not part of the Classic package, it can be provided using the Premium package brands for an upcharge.

Just look at the brands offered in the Classic package and connect them to the cocktails you normally drink.  Obviously there is a greater variety and diversity of available alcohol brands in the Premium package, but there should be availability in the Classic for most anything you would want.

Thank you would you happen to know what cocktails are included in the classic package ?

A cocktail that can be made with the liquors listed on the Classic is covered.  So lots of cocktails; Bloody Mary, pina colada. Margarita, cosmo, gin and tonic, mojito, old fashion, vodka and soda, etc

So, if we purchase the Classic package and DH decides he wants a Crown and Coke, he would just be charged the difference?  Not the entire cost of the drink?  If I am reading your comments correctly.  That is what I have been wondering.

Just remember you both have to purchase the same package.

Does Celebrity not allow one to purchase an alcohol package and the other a soda package if you call and speak with CS?

That would be determined as you indicate by a phone call.  I have not had direct experience with that and have heard comments regarding results both ways. I know the policy is to prevent sharing but may be based on individual circumstances regarding alcohol consumption.  Call and ask.

Drinks above the limit you pay the difference. Some drinks at the pool it was only $1 while at the Martini bar it was $7 I think.  For us it was much less to pay the up charges as needed than to buy the package upgrade.

Asking here because this might help OP also, does anyone know if I can request complementary higher tier liqueurs when playing in the casino?

Some of my thoughts...

To make the classic drink package break even, you have to drink about 6+ drinks daily - including on port days.  If you are going to be drinking a brand that isn't on the classic package, the difference for the premium package is $9 per day right now (on my cruise).  You will likely be at that price if you order 6 drinks with upcharges - assuming it's at least $1.50 - I feel like it'll be $2 or $3.

If you decide classic still works out, be sure to tell each bartender you want a 'classic package' alcohol in your drinks if they aren't listed that way on menu.
