Utopia OTS--Unable to reserve excursions, dining, drinks, etc.

I have a 3 and 4 days b-b on Utopia sailing August 22 and wondering if this is normal for a new ship.  Called D+ desk and the individual was not aware and after on hold for a few minutes, he says that it's an IT issue and will be resolved soon.  I thought to myself BS.🤣 

 

Have others had similar problems when sailing on new ships.  I know in the past when Quantum, Oasis and Symphony were introduced I had no problem making reservations.

We sail early August and reserved things months ago. No problems.

The D+ representative was having similar issues--no Specialty D, soda package and multiple excursions try.  The selection (reserve) shows in light gray.  Been trying since early April.

 

The 2 segments are Casino bookings and I have a room assigned for the 3 nights and a guarantee for the 4 niter.  I don't usually book guarantees and not familiar with any unusuality when booking in the cruise planner.  However, I have a cabin assignment for the first leg (3 niter).

We are on Utopia 9-13 and 9-16.  The 9-13 is a casino comp booking and the 9-16 is a full fare booking made a long time ago.

 

Recently (within the last week or so) dining packages have been available but nothing related to the MDR.  I believe drink packages have also been posted but I don't really look at those so I'm not certain. I have absolutely no idea about excursions since these stops are in the Bahamas/PDCC and we never get off the ship at either of these stops.

 

We will not pre-purchase any specialty dining for the 9-13 (3 night) cruise, and will just eat in the Coastal Kitchen with maybe a BOGO but for the 9-16 sailing I purchased the UDP which is a rarity for us.  The price was very good (relative to recent horrific prices, that is) and since this will be our first visit(s) to Utopia, I figured it would be a nice time to go to all of the restaurants.

 

As a general comment, I don't think it's all that unusual to have the Cruise Planner postings delayed somewhat for new ships.  I think they're trying to maximize the prices so they are waiting until the last minute to see what they can "get".  Just my guess...

I had trouble too, so I switched to firefox and all was well, I am sailing on Utopia Aug 12th and was able to book beach club, my time dining and a lunch at chops grille

Off the phone with the Casino agent and the 3 niter in their system, for whatever reason was recorded, as an offer rather than an actual booking even though I have a reservation number and a cabin assigned. Crazy, was told that it will be corrected within 48 hours.  Hope so.

I'm sailing on August 12 and I've been able to book my beverage package and lunch at Giovanni's a few months ago. I've done reservations both on the app and computer. Not sure what's happening on your end.

Even the MDR reservations are open now...at least they are on our 2 sailings.  Unusual in that there is a 6:30 slot for MTD, which is the first time I've seen that in a very long time.
