Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted July 20 #1 Share Posted July 20 Hello, We haven't been on Carnival since 2017, we are platinum and have been cruising Celebrity since. Due to the fact, I have a few artery blockages one being very delicate/fragile, I need to see a cardiovascular specialist at which my primary made the appointment, soonest he can get me seen is august 14th, which meant I had to cancel our two week Aruba vacation as we would of been away on this date. I have some gifts that I wanted to bring back to my friends who work at the Marriott, we been going to Aruba for years now and they became like family to us. It is not advisable that I fly anyways, so we found the Vista to go to Aruba on September 7 which allows me to see the surgeon, time to get all my tests at the hospital that is needed, jump on the cruise and come back and get the first surgery done. But, I have so many question as its been years since we cruised Carnival, if anybody can help me with my questions thank you so very much! 1-How is the internet, my other half needs to jump on work calls and be in contact with work at all times. 2-I am platinum, am I correct to assume I will get priority embarkation/disembarkation and do not have to get faster to the fun? 3-Does carnival still have the 15 limit alcohol drink maximum policy, if so, embarkation day, does getting drinks after midnight go towards my second day count of drinks (when does the time end for embarkation day for first day drinks)? What is the maximum cost of a drink that is included on the cheers? We have a casino offer deal that includes drinks for both of us. 4- I have anytime dining, which dining room would I be eating in? I noticed there is an up charge for steak/lobster is it still $23.00 charge? How is the steak here compared to the steakhouse? 5- The bathroom shower, do they have curtains or shower doors? 6- Is there anything else to eat past midnight besides pizza? I need to eat low cholesterol. 7- I drink a lot of sparkling water, what brand sparkling water/can do they offer? 8- Is there a charge for the pastry at the special coffee place or is everything complimentary? 9- Are the pools salt or fresh water? 10-We have a balcony cabin, we got the last one available yesterday, is there a charge so we can use the outdoor Havana pool area? Knights on the Beach Posted July 21 #3 Share Posted July 21 Some info in addition to Jimbo's replies. 1. We were on Vista for two weeks in April and the premium internet worked very well. 3. 6:00 am is when the clock resets for drinks. 6. There are late night snacks in the buffet - I think they started at 11:30 each night. Not sure how late it was open. Maybe 1:00? They have things like chicken tenders, fries, pizza (not the same served in the pizzeria), soup, hot dogs, sandwiches, chips & pico, cookies, etc. so not really much low cholesterol.
Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted July 21 Author #4 Share Posted July 21 Thank you for that info. I think I will just have a late dinner (have my time dining) so I won't need to eat late at night.
Elaine5715 Posted July 21 #5 Share Posted July 21 Having had cardio surgery after a cruise, I can tell you I was advised no more than 2 alcohol based drinks per day on the cruise.
