Tonight while passing through the casino we noticed the smoking section in the back roped section expanded to the whole length of the casino

Was any explanation given for why they did this?

I was really looking forward to spending some time in the casino but if they have changed it to predominately smoking vs non-smoking then we’ll most likely skip it.  I know my DW will if she can’t find a non-smoking area to play slots.

There is a nonsmoking area alright, but as @MonsterJoe points out it is only in name. It is a joke. The only recourse is the email survey. Must be put in writing to be considered.

This is the importance of surveys. Since YC Director Mustafa left the Seascape fell from the top spot in the email ratings to #4. However, since he was replaced by Dani as YC Director, the Seascape has once again regained its #1 position in the MSC fleet. Dani and the entire YC staff are ecstatic (they get extra bonus money). Even Dani is shocked as he never has been connected to a top #1 YC before. It all has to do with this staff and crew.

We intend to give the YC all 10's as well. We also 'heard' that there is a Specialty Restaurant open on Seashore Ocean Cay Day. So why can't this Specialty Restaurant manager, Alesandra, not open one up on this ship that day? We are going to give her a zero again this cruise. (Maybe these zeros will add up).

Morpheus, I lost a little bit track, when will be your next EJ observations? Or did you cancel this?

DW asked me the same question.  Presently booked a Serenity Suite on Explora II November 2025. We are limited by age(up to 10 days) and luggage (too much) to closed loop from Miami.

Wish they were here in summer time.

We have had two consecutive days of lunches in the specialty restaurants, yesterday and the day before at Butcher's Cut and Hola! Tacos respectively. Each day there was a uniformed crew member/some type of officer walking to and fro and apparently supervising. But this was a male. Who is Alesandra then? And which reports to which? If anyone knows, I think it would be you. 🙂

I had a moment of elation and then realized I misread the date. We are going on Explora11 in January…2025.I was hoping to have you pave the way.

She was the Specialty Restaurant manager in July. If it is not her this cruise, whoever it is, is no better. Passengers and crew enjoyed dining at Hola Tacos for lunch Ocean Cay Day. But thanks for the update, we went to the kiosk on deck 8 and asked the staff person if the manager was still Alesandra on this cruise and he confirmed it was. No sense talking to a wall.

Took the first trolley up to Ocean House this morning and took this 360 degree video of the interior of Ocean House. Noticed they squeezed another table in. Appears only two tables are the proper height to eat. The other two are lower, good for drinks and conversation. Maybe the two lowers are for the two Royals as they wait for the Owners to finish their lunch first ?

Ah yes now I see what you mean when talking about no indoor seating for lunch. Looks like it was always intended to be an outdoor dining venue and just set up indoor tables as an afterthought.  Hopefully when we are there in February it won’t be too incredibly hot or buggy.

That is so beautiful. I'm still sad we weren't able to dock there on our cruise. I don't love the heat, but LOVE the ocean, so sitting outside with that view would be amazing for me.

I keep looking at upcoming cruises on Seascape because of you and @Best Cat Mom. My desire to travel a lot means I need to hold back on some things. However, there is a window of time when I could "squeeze" something in at the end of an already planned visit to Florida. Who wants to be stuck in snowy Minnesota if I can avoid it!

This daily program posting was not needed this cruise like those summer cruises this past year, but better safe than sorry.

CCTV & CODE OF CONDUCT

Too bad there isn't an "interloper detection" mode on the CCTV systems.

Thought I'd give a quick tour of the Sport's Bar as we walk the interior of the ship after our pizza lunch. Still too hot to walk around outside on Ocean Cay. Maitre d' Marion (John Wayne's real first name was Marion) made the rounds this morning telling guests that he would have the same lobster rolls that they are serving at Ocean House up at the One Pool Deck for lunch. He knew we would be on the ship for lunch, but just in case, he mentioned it to us at breakfast. @Best Cat Mom during  our stroll on deck 8 after lunch we strolled by Alesandra. She must have recognized us because we did the best to ignore each other.

Well your post just cost me . DW told me to get on the Explora site and see what is available THIS December 2024. I found a 7 day cruise to take the place of one here on Seascape for Christmas. We figure less rowdy bunch on Explora this time of year. Went to concierge and asked if it was possible to have an appointment in the TSL at 1pm with a future cruise consultant. Discovered that this amenity is still available to RS & OS. Met with FCC manager, Mary. My only question for her before we started...what is Explora giving as an incentive to book on board ? A 5% discount. I asked further, can anyone get this same discount on line or direct or through a travel agent. Her answer was NO. It is a MSC exclusive incentive for on board bookings. The bad news payment is due in full at time of booking as we are so close to sailing.  Bon Voyage to us.....
