Is that sort of pronounced "Buna Zeea??" I want to make sure that I have it perfect! Also, "Multskumesc?" Let me know asap!! Yes, Bogdan is from Romania as well..
The chef prepared a true Indain dinner for us tonight. Curried, hot shrimp on a skewer with curried chicken breast, a selection of chips and hot sauces, onions chives etc.., hot indian tomato bisk soup, and a selction of 4 curried beef dishes with indian and sticky rice. WONDERFUL!!!
Everyone is watching the world cup, so the Club might be a bit quiet. I expect a very early night, as we have a 7AM wakeup call for the Exclusive Seabourn Experience tomorrow morning. More on that...
For those that know Daniel, the Club bartender... He is back this week after going home for an emergency. His father passed away with cancer. All of my prayers are with he and his family. He is back on board to keep busy. All the best to Daniel.

Hi Dan:

Buna Ziua - z like english z, the i reads like the English e, the u and the a is just like the Spanish vowels. (Buna Zeua) Read all the letters. Hope the helps. The Mutskumesc, you hit it just right. Good luck. :) And the easiest one is Ce mai faci.... How are you? Romanian is like French, Spanish and Italian, just use the vowels, and you are all set.

Look forward to the rest of your journey, I opend up my Seabourn brochure while watching the World Cup. Happy Italians indeed.

I think that Captain G-A leaving for the Pride is truly sad :( - especially for those of us with 3 more cruises booked on the Legend. Now we have to switch to the Pride. hmmmm ..... we love the crew on the Legend, and Eric de Gray - so its really going to be hard to know what to do. We wonder why they had to mess up a good thing and not leave things alone where everyone was happy!! Let's hope it works out.
When I Dream - are you trying to scare Joanne?? Washing dishes and making drinks?? - not in Canada, eh?
Dan - you will have so much fun in Italy now that they won the World Cup - it will be one enormous party the whole time you are there. There is a huge Italian population in Toronto and the city is going wild!
Have a wonderful Italian cruise :) :)

Hi there everyone,
Thought of you Dan when the Italians won today. Should make for a few party port stops.:D Sorry to hear about Danial's father. Give him my best and my thoughts. Danial and Sarha are coming over from Ft. Lauderdale this coming weekend to stay with me. Will be good to see them. We will have dinners with Joanne. Leslie, make sure you have Joanne do dishes and make drinks. I hear she is pretty good at it. Really sounds like a wonderful three weeks you have. Can't wait to hear about the Seabourn Experience tomorrow. But 7am????? That's why we like crossings. No early mornings except the disembark day. And that's always bad enough without adding the early get up. Ship's should dock at their destination early afternoon. You never seem to get enough sleep that night. To many people to say good-bye to.:(
Anyway, keep us all jealous with your posts. Love them.
Hi to all,
Kit

CruisinMatt, I and several other passengers keep in touch with Captain G-A via email when he is away from the ship and he had sent us emails letting us now Seabourn's future plans for him but did not say which ship he would be assigned to. The Capt. does have a loyal following and a lot will follow him but I don't think everybody. On the other hand, fans of Capt. TT could bolt for the Legend (or whaeveer ship his is assigned to) as well. So overall, I think this will all come out even-steven.

In hindsight, it was rather remarkable to me that the lovely Miss Martita B. had her "day on the Legend" with Capt. Am I the only one who is shocked that Capt GA is leaving we Legendaries! If I understand it right he will be in command for the November crossing - is that right? He will be sorely missed on the Legend. But that makes me doubly glad that we booked part of the South American for 2008!!:) I for one hate change though and I just love to see the same "old" faces when I board - crew and guests! Does anyone with their ear to the ground know if the changes have anything to do with the potential new ships and the routes that they would be doing!?! Just a thought - Sue.

I will surely pass on everyones condolences towards the passing of Daniels father. I'm sure he will really appreciate it.
We recently returned from our exclusive Seabourn experience in Portovenere Italy. Another charming town, again the ONLY cruise vessel in port(o)! Our experience started on the rocky side, as the 86 members of the "Insurance Group" decided that they wanted to be on the same vessel as each other. As there were a few on each tender ride (12) many of us waited in the hot sun, aboard top of our vessel for over 45 minutes. Most of these passengers have never sailed on a luxury yacht..and it showed. On the other hand, the excursion itself was grand, to say the least. Our privately chartered vessel took us on a tour of the "Cinque Terre" (5 lands). Each of the 5 sea villages were as charming as you can imagine. Attached multi colored homes with a hint of trompe l'oie on the facades of each residence. Each overlooking the sea. We had the opportunity to visit 3 of the 5 towns. Local wine, olives and delicious gelato were available. On the way, we took in mountainous views with some beatiful homes was up on top! On the way back we were offered several samples of a lovely white wine of the region and focaccia bread. I thought I had been everywhere. I was wrong!!! Just gorgeous,as the everlasting weather. Unfortunately as we pulled into port, a fellow passenger fell unconcious. Luckily we had a trauma doctor on board our private vessel (passenger) and Luca to perform CPR and to translate to the ambulance staff. I understand that he may have been dehydrated, and his blood pressure had dropped. Fingers are crossed that he will make it back on board before we sail. Thanks Luca for everything!! (See what happens when Italy wins the world cup? Miracles happen all over!) ;)
Our "special" lunch was superb, again today. I think our sushi chef is trying to out-do himself day by day! Today we enjoyed shrimp and vegatable tempora, sushi, lobster, special hot asian vegatables with wrapped pork, and the most ubelievable beef tetake (sp) I've ever tasted! WOW!!
Our stewardess, Bernadette (who I'd love to tell everyone about, but I think shes being a bit shy, maybe later on the cruise) turns 21 today! We ordered a gorgeous bouquet to be delivered to her cabin. After lunch we were shocked to see that it was delivered to ours!! We quickly ran to the pursers office, and within 5 minutes a knock on the door, and off they went to our wonderful stewardess. I hope she likes them! Happy Birthday Bernadette!! :)
Tonight is another formal night. We have been invited to sit with the Staff Captain, and plan on accepting. I'll be sure to post this eveningas to how that went!
Have a happy Monday all! (I know I am!)

Hi Dan,

I have to send you a private email off line as I was browsing some old threads and came across yours about the late, great Royal Cruise Line and the incomparable Dick (Rev) Revnes. You know his son use to work for Seabourn but when they were split from Cunard he went to Cunard/Princess. I have some great stories about RCL.

I wish I were with you and my friends on Seabourn.I am sure it is odd not having the darling Eric DeGray but I know Michelle is doing an outstanding job. Please tell Michelle and Sec. Officer Liam that their tall blonde friend from NJ says a BIG hello.

I am actually leaving Saturday for Paris and will spend 4 days there before boarding a River Cruise on the new River Royale. I'm not sure if I can handle it: one has to PAY for one's drinks....BUT, I can bring my own wine onboard (and I will) and open myself on deck or pay $7.00 euros to have it opened in the Dining Room. I wonder if the bartender knows that a BBC is not just a British telly station.....

Bon voyage

Hi tall blonde Cruisr from NJ!! I'll be sure to pass on your sentiments, although I believe Liam the security officer is not on this cruise.

Michelle IS doing a great job with her team Bonnie and (anti) Eric! They are so much fun!

Last nights dinner was a very nice one with the staff Captain. I had the opportunity to dine with some "old" friends (From last weeks cruise) and some new ones! Everyone had a great time! The lobster thermador was truly divine. Afterwards we enjoyed Bonnies show for a second time. This show she added a bit about Barbara Streisand on Seabourn. Really funny!

Played trivia this morning and came in 4th (out of 5) Still had fun though. We were the only team to get the bonus question correct. "What are the 6 official languages of the UN"? Our team name was "The mini- Comeback Cruisers" (Only 3 of us)

Today we are flaoting in Golfo Stella off the coast of elba Italy. It is marina day! Had the chance to water ski, so much fun. I LOVE sea days! The group of 86 finally realized that the marina was open, and that was it for me. Way too many people.

Tonight we are dining with Michelle. It should be another lovely evening.

I will post more later.

My husband and I will be on the Legend in August touring Italy. We also love Casey and met her on the Pride in November 05. I hate to admit it but what is '2' that everyone is talking about. Don't want to miss out on anything. Would like to hear from someone who has done the Legend in Italy.

Mef38, "2" is the new evening restaurant in the Verandah. "2" stands for 2 portions of a fixed menu that changes every night. I still have not tried it, but hope to, at least twice. I have heard mixed reviews. Some like the fact that it is VERY gourmet, small portions and very chic, others would like to have the Verandah back for a more relaxed, casual experience, where you can still order from the restaurant menu.. Change is always interesting..
Cruisr.. After my wonderful dinner with Michele (mary Ann) I had the opportunity to meet Liam the Security Officer.. A REAL gentleman!! Very nice conversation with him.. Sorry that I thought he wasn't on board. I just Assummed that I "knew" everyone! ;) I said "hello" from the tall blonde from NJ!
Like I mentioned before, dinner was a treat with Michele. I had the opportunity to learn alot about her. She just purchased her first home in Toronto Canada, her place where she hangs her hat. She is incredible, with a history of traveling across Canada with numerous Musical Theater productions. Among her favorites were The Sound of Music, Fiddler, West Side Story, and Gypsy, all in lead roles. She also worked on Holland Amrica for a bit (I dont hold that against her) ;)
I was amazed that she is the founder of a very important charitable foundation that grants dreams to the termanally ill and financially disadvantaged Canadian adults. Her website is www.FriendsofaDream.org.
Check it out! Michelle is a fantastic Cruise Director!!! THANKS MICHELE!!!
Today we are in Livorno Italy. This is the port for Pisa and Florence. Most guest are off an LONG tours. I decided, having been here a few times, to stay on board and relax for the day. I did, however, walk into the bustling town, shpped in the department stores and visited the fresh fruit and vegatable market. I decided not to purchace anything, but had a great time "window" shopping!
After a brief "nap" (Never tried Sambuca until last night...never again) I met friends at teh sky bar for Gerhards "Famous" margaritas!! SO GOOD!!
Boris was on hand, as well as Tony at the Verandah for lunch. No sushi or sashimi for me today, jus a nice salad. (my choice)
Back to the sky bar for Sauvignon Blanc and funny "straw" bar tricks. Now a nap before dinner.
I really enjoy posting my experiences for everyone, and I hope you are enjoying as well. I wish you were ALL on board with me!!!
Thinking of all my CC friends!!

I wanted to mention one of the terrific staff members here onboard the Legend. Her name is Casey Harris. She is a dynamo at reception, and can't do enough for "her" guests!:)
Dan,

I really need you to do me a favor with Casey. At the reception, she has a small bell that passengers can ring to get her attention. I need to you go over to her and give it a BIG RING on my and my wife's behalf. When we cruised on the Pride last November, I would constantly pass the reception and ring the bell (nice and loud, of course). It was really comical watching her keep her cool. Unitl one day, she removed the bell just as I was approaching. That was when I really knew she had a sense of humor.

You can tell her that Mark & Wendy from Montreal will be back in 3 weeks! We are really looking forward to seeing her.

Have a great cruise.

Mef38, I gave your message to Casey, but no bell on the Legend to ring!! (maybe you can bring one in 3 weeks, just for her!) ;)
Last night was interesting, to say the least. The air conditioning malfunctioned on the ship for a few hours over dinner. Of course this was the night that I decided towear ALL BLACK from head to toe!! Arik in the restaurant was nice enough to disable the overhead light at our table, just to cool things off a bit. Had fun at the Casino with my new friend Maureen. Unfortunately (for me) I left a bit light in the pockets.. I'll get 'em tonight! How many? Too many!!
Today we are in the romantic port of Portofino, Italy. We are joined in the harbor, only by one other cruise ship, the Silver Whisper. Its amazing, side by side, the size difference between the Legend and the Whisper. The Whisper is definately a cruise ship, where the Legend is definately more like a very large yacht. I had to chuckle though, the Whisper passengers getting off their huge, hot tenders, were not greeted to a Silversea tent set-up (protection from the sun), water, sodas, fruit, suntan lotion etc etc... like we were. They were pointing at our set up and talking about it! The passenger mix on that ship seemed a bit overdressed for holiday, and alot more "stuffy". (overhearing converstaions on the street) The funniest "stuffy" comment was when a totally overdressed, over made-up woman says to her high-fashion "model" type daughter "Look lovie there's Gucci" her daughter flips her hair around and says "Gucci, oh mummie I Looove Gucci"! I guess you had to be there! I got a good laugh... Sorry for the tangent!
Portofino is definately one of the most charming and beatiful places in the entire world. Although it is not a huge port town, by any means, you can find that there is plenty to do. Although the sun was blazing, I decided I would walk to the church at mid mountain, and then to the Castle up top. I was drenched with sweat by the time I got there, but the view was well worth it! Unbelievable! Those who know Portofino can attest to that. I went back to the ship for a leisurely lunch, including a nice chat with Vindora and Mihai. The Verandah staff are top-notch! Then back to town for an early afternoon stroll. Most of the shops were closed for a siesta, and will re-open at 4PM. There is a hotel here called Hotel Splendido. The group of 86 had the whole restaurant booked for lunch, and tonight is solidly booked as well. I would have enjoyed experiencing this restaurant myself. Maybe next time. Tonight is another deck bar-b-que. As we have a late (11 PM) sailing, I believe many will decide to dine on shore instead of on the ship. We will see. I might even skip the bar-b-que this time, and elect to go down to the restaurant for dinner.
Off to the sky bar, or gym or something, but will try and post more later!

So sad, the Whisper left early, we are still in port.. ;)
The deck bar-b-que was extremely unattended as many decided to eat dinner in Portofino. Michelle is doing her best to get the (remaining) guests up to dance! I will prowl around the ship for a while, but probably an early night.

Martita, I will be SURE to mention to Casey how "heavenly" last night was.. (Although, I understand, she is a very tired girl today!..You'd never know to look at her!)

Till tomorrow, goodnight all!

Hmmm....My only SB journey so far made me fall in love with the "yacht-like" size and comfort of the small Sisters. The above size would put it along side another well-known premium line (that I have experienced once, as well!). As much as I love balconies, I have to hope that it just might be easier to book one of the original triplets if SB adds 2 more ships of that size!

Oh, for the return of 110% single supplements! (OK, I can dream, can't I???) ;)

I feel certain that SB won't undertake such an undertaking without ensuring that staff & crew continue to be "top-notch", as they ARE!!! :D
