Fort Lauderdale 3/02/07 Help

What is going on in FLL on 3/02-03/07? Is there anything special going on this weekend? Have been bidding on priceline and checking other sites

but can not find room for pre cruise stay at a reasonable rate. The prices I have found are $$$. I have been bidding on 4* and 3* in the downtown area.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The Superbowl is in Miami that weekend. Rooms have been booked solid for months now. Anything left is commanding above and beyond rack rates with a 2-3 day minimum. Grab anything you can, anyway you can, you can always continue trying PL and cancel what you've booked now if you get lucky on PL.

Many will have to go as far as Orlando or Ft Meyers to get a room for the night renting a car the following day and driving to FLL.

It's high season. Why would you discount your inventory now, when you have 6 months to sell it.

We wish there was a good way to get a decent room in Ft. Lauderdale, but too many places are just dumps or big bucks. Try Trip Advisor and you can look at reviews on various hotels. Did you try Extended Stay or Sleep Inn or Hampton Inn North? Good luck in solving the hotel lottery game.

Hi Everyone

Thank you for the help. I have booked the Sleep Inn that I read

about on another thread. That is my back up for now, at least

we have a place to stay. I will keep bidding on price line and

trying hotwire.

the Hampton Inn in Plantation offers shuttle from the airport, to the pier and also will take you anywhere within a 5 mile radious: It isn't near the beach but the prices are a little lower and it is very popular with good reviews. Just a thought. NMnita

We are sailing out of FLL on March 3rd. I got the Renaissance HOtel thru Hotwire for 127.00 nite, this includes taxes/fees.etc! Thru their website, over 400.00 for the same night!

NewMexicoNita: Have you stayed at the Hampton Inn Plantation? I have booked a room for Mar 16 pre cruise. I read all the great reviews on the travelocity site. It looks to be quiet and maybe will not be overflowing with a ton of other pre-cruise guests.

What restaurants are within walking distance?
