Liberty or Miracle?

I was just looking up the itinerary for Miracle and it's enticing but I heard the nightlife is pretty non-existent. My husband and I are going to be on vaca from two children and would love to go out dancing and have a good time. Any input would be great. Thanks I hope my spelling's correct:D

I've done both & would pick Liberty in a heartbeat. Layout of the ship seems to help with most of the clubs, casino etc, located on deck 5.And the big screen on the Lido deck is great.

Both ships are beautiful & fun. Good luck with your choice. :)

People change weekly on ships. You could have real crazy passengers one week, and very quiet the next. I would also try the Liberty , I have never been on that ship and I would like to see it. I don't think you could go wrong with a new ship.

Just did the Miracle in September and booked the Liberty for next year. We loved the Miracle but the crowd is pretty laid back. We're not really party into the wee hours people so it worked great for us. I think everyone's just too tired with four early port days in a row. The party seemed to pick up on Friday night after we left Costa Maya - I guess everyone knew they could sleep in the next day. If you're just looking for dancing up to say, midnight, I would highly recommend the Miracle and it's staff. Best service I've ever had anywhere. But I'm sure the Liberty is great as well - that's why we booked that one next!

We're scheduled for the Miracle in March, and I've read pretty much the same things. But I can't imagine wanting to stay up and party into the wee hours knowing that my port time is only a couple of hours away. On our last cruise many people in our group elected to skip planned (and paid for) excursions in port because they were too tired from partying all night.

Whichever ship you go on, (since you are leaving your kids at home) try to go when kids are in school to get the most "adult" cruise possible.

We did the Miracle a few weeks ago and hubby went to the shows and I went to karaoke until midnight and then did the piano bar until 1:30am.

There was a wonderful dance band that played from 9:30ish to 12:30ish.

Of course the disco was open until 3am (I think). I popped my head in a couple of times after closing the piano bar at 1:30am and it was always about 1/2 full.

5 hours of singing a night...I was in heaven. But the 4 ports were more than I like. I am more of a sea person!

Have a great cruise.

That's great in theory, but in practice you are often more limited. For grandma or whoever is watching the kids for you, if it's during the school year they have to come to your house and get the kids up and out on the bus in the morning. If it's a vacation, you can send them to grandma's house, she doesn't have to go anywhere, and she doesn't have to deal with all the school junk like "Time to get up!", "Is you're homework done?", or "You have soccer practice at 4:00 Jimmy, but when it get out at 6:00 I'll be dropping off Suzy as her play rehearsal, so you'll just have to wait around for a few minutes until get there and can run you over to Tae Kwon Do."

It's hard enough to get someone to watch your kids without asking them to do all that other stuff too. During school vacations at least the watchers can do what they'd like to entertain the kids.

Garv816, My wife and I were on the Liberty in April and Miracle this past October. Both ships were in great shape. Liberty had more of a "nightlife". Both had great bands Music Society on Liberty, and Music Unlimited on Miracle playing in the smaller lounge. Both of these bands play a similar set, and they always had a crowd. The piano bar was great with Vince on Liberty and good with Mike on Miracle. Robbin, who is a soloist, played on both ships and seemed like people enjoyed his music. Shows on both were good. Disco had much better variety on the Liberty. Each ship had its own activities based on the cruise director which was John Heald Liberty and Chris Roberts Miracle. Food was mostly the same on both which was good. My opinion is that which ever you choose you will be happy. They both had numerous entertainment options. The difference I believe was the number of ports, and all in a row for the Miracle which made many go to sleep early (not us though). Enjoy which ever you choose.

Thanks Crusinpilot for all the helpful info. I didn't think about the four days in a row at port but being able to get away is worth a little sleep deprivation and a lot of a good time:D Also those great beaches to lay on a catch up!! All in my opinion of course
