pebblesjns Posted June 1, 2007 #851 Share Posted June 1, 2007 Does the Conquest time differ from the local times at port? We will be cruising in November, after we fall back to standard time, and I was just wondering if there will be a difference between the ship time and Grand Cayman time and Jamaica time. I know Cozumel is on the same time zone and they follow the same daylight savings time schedule as the US, but I'm not sure about the other two. I am trying to book an excursion on Grand Cayman through Captain Marvins that starts at 8:30 am. I emailed them and they suggested this time. Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks so much! lornadoons Posted June 3, 2007 #853 Share Posted June 3, 2007 Greetings,I was reading a recent review (on CC) about the Conquest Aft balcony-(I believe it was Deck 6- #6442), anyway the reviewer said that they did not have a couch in their cabin and was told that is had to be requested:confused: . Has anyone else experienced this? We are on the Conquest in November in an aft on Empress Deck:D and I thought the cabins had couches. Thanks in advance and Happy Cruising:) Hi CruiseBeauty... you may be posting about the Review I wrote about no couch in our cabin... we were in cabin 8442, aft but not all the way in the back... we did not have a couch. It was a HUGE room, king size bed, wall dressing table etc, with a stool at the desk, one chair, 2 small oval tables...3 wardrobe closets... when we called the desk, we told them we had 2 tables and only 1 chair. And we wondered about a couch since some of our family was on deck 2 with an ocean view and much smaller cabins and they had one to sit on. They DID say we had to REQUEST a couch... too funny... that has never happened to us before and we have cruised 8 times, on 4 different lines in much smaller cabins and most had a couch/loveseat... without a request, and a cheaper/lower grade room... so I don't know what was up with our cabin... there sure is room enough for one, or at least for more than 1 chair! The balcony is twice the length of the other cabins on that deck too. We had 3 outside deck chairs there and actually brought one of the plastic chairs in until someone brought us 2 other nicer indoor chairs to use for our week. They should just leave them in there! And again, we still had tons of space. The reason we wanted one was because when we would sit with family for a while, getting dressed or waiting to leave for dinner, only one of us could sit in the 1 chair and the other/s had to sit on the bench or bed... we didn't need it to sleep on. Just for sitting, conversing, have a few drinks without sitting on the bed. We weren't in the cabin much, but when we were, it would have been nice. AKB10 Posted June 4, 2007 #854 Share Posted June 4, 2007 We will be on the Conquest Feb 08. I had a ? about the size of the bathrooms. I have only been on one other cruise (Ecstasy) and was suprized at the size of the bathrooms - I expected a smaller one. Is the Conquest bathrooms the same size, smaller or larger than the Ecstasy's? Thanks

MrSnarkyPants Posted June 4, 2007 #861 Share Posted June 4, 2007 Regarding traffic - we had the usual delays in Houston but nothing on the causeway. I think they are about done with that work but google the houston transportation website and it will give you updates on closures. http://www.houstontranstar.org
purplefrogs Posted June 4, 2007 #862 Share Posted June 4, 2007 Hey everyone! We are sailing the Conquest this June and since it's our first Conquest class ship what are there anything we need to see or not see? We are very excited! Ready for a new class ship! You need to see the pursers desk when you embark to get a map of the ship or study the maps at each elevator bank. It will help you tremendously, especially if you're assigned to the Monet lower for dinner. Enjoy your cruise!

ktravis Posted June 8, 2007 #867 Share Posted June 8, 2007 Going on Conquest 9-23 and have a couple of questions. What is their non-alcohol beer? Can you bring your own water and pop? Do you get a players club card in the casino and are you able to use your credit card to get more cash in the casino?
p2lockhart Posted June 8, 2007 #868 Share Posted June 8, 2007 Going on Conquest 9-23 and have a couple of questions. What is their non-alcohol beer? Can you bring your own water and pop? Do you get a players club card in the casino and are you able to use your credit card to get more cash in the casino? I can't help you with the non-alcohol beer question, but I am sure someone else will be able to. Yes, you can bring your own water and soft drinks. Just slap a tag on them with your cabin number and leave them and have the baggage person at the pier arrange for it to be delivered to your cabin. At least that is what I did on my last Carnival cruise, which was a few years ago. I have not been in the casino recently but I did have a players card in the past, but never tried to get more cash with it. Again, I am sure someone else will chime in with the answer to that one as well.
TexBear Posted June 9, 2007 #869 Share Posted June 9, 2007 Going on Conquest 9-23 and have a couple of questions. What is their non-alcohol beer? Can you bring your own water and pop? Do you get a players club card in the casino and are you able to use your credit card to get more cash in the casino? I think the beer is LaBlatt's, not sure though. You can bring whatever water you can *personally* carry on the ship. I'd recommend getting Crystal Light type mix and adding it to the tap for cheap flavored drinks! I don't have any answers for your other questions - enjoy the Conquest.:)

excitedcruiser Posted June 9, 2007 #871 Share Posted June 9, 2007 Has anybody had an ocean view room that sleeps 3 people? We booked inside guarantee and was moved to an ocean view with a couch. We were told that the couch is the 3rd bed. Is it an actual size couch or just a chair that folds out to a bed? We were on the Conquest last year with 4 people in a cabin and had the 2 beds that came out of the ceiling. Can't imagine where they would fit a couch at. Would love to see pictures of a room like that. Our room is on the Riviera Deck #1403.

The steward removes the back of the couch in the evening and turns it into a bed. The couch also has drawers underneath that you can use for storage. We loved our room. I can attach a picture, but I am not sure how much it will help you. It shows the couch already made into a bed. Enjoy your trip.
excitedcruiser Posted June 9, 2007 #873 Share Posted June 9, 2007 Thanks for the picture. So does that mean that there is no vanity in the room? Can they still push the 2 regular twin beds together?
TimeYet? Posted June 9, 2007 #874 Share Posted June 9, 2007 Thanks for the picture. So does that mean that there is no vanity in the room? Can they still push the 2 regular twin beds together? The vanity is directly across from the sofa bed. It has lots of mirror room and the standard hairdryer in the drawer. Yes, the 2 beds can still be pushed together.
