Chalker Guy Posted January 31, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 31, 2007 Pineapple resort is on Long Bay. Great beach, but if you want to snorkel it is terrible. Dead coral, waves pushing you onto rocks and coral, almost no fish.
Mack42306 Posted January 31, 2007 #7 Share Posted January 31, 2007 thanks for the review, we recently emailed them requesting a day pass for March and they responded the following day... glad you hear you enjoyed it! Lib0007 Posted January 31, 2007 #9 Share Posted January 31, 2007 Deb, we had plans to go to Pineapple a couple of years ago but ended up at the public beach right next door . . . was talking to some people who were staying at Pineapple and they said the pools/beaches were always packed and no empty chairs to be found . . . did you have this problem? They ended up walking over to the public beach and renting chairs! I'd love to plan a trip to Pineapple again.

Thank you so much for sharing!!!!:D :D The rates are set by the Antiguan government. Here's the latest rate sheet. TravelWorks Posted February 24, 2007 #19 Share Posted February 24, 2007 Okay...I hate it when people don't post pictures of their "WONDERFUL" days... Some of us our visual and need to see what we are spending our money on. THIS is PINEAPPLE RESORT on LONG BAY BEACH in ANTIGUA.
emmysmommy Posted February 27, 2007 #20 Share Posted February 27, 2007 Thanks to all for the information (and photos). I spoke with someone from the management company that handles the hotel reservations today and was told that the per person cost was $55. I have not spoken with the resort directly but that is still a great rate for an all inclusive. Coincidently, I looked up the resort on TripAdvisor and saw that they ranked the resort as #9 of 31 resorts on Antigua. I'm not sure if that is relevant or not but I think from the photos that the resort looks lovely!!
PelicanBill Posted March 4, 2007 #21 Share Posted March 4, 2007 How confusing... I don't think everyone is talking about the same place? The pictures above match google searches for Occidental Grand Pineapple. The Allegro web site is not working so I can't check that. The pictures do not match Sandals Antigua. If anyone who has talked to them recently can confirm who owns it and if it's really a sandals property or not I would appreciate it. I was looking for a good place to go in October but we have a child so if it's really Sandals now that leaves us out.
tnsail Posted March 5, 2007 #22 Share Posted March 5, 2007 Bill, A group of us are in contact with these folks for our day in Antigua in May. http://www.grandpineapplebeachresort.com/english/daypass.phtml is the address your interested in and your correct about the pictures. This is NOT a Sandals resort....... By the way it must be a generic answering system. Your reply will extremely lame but at least it is a reply....... Cruisex234 Posted March 7, 2007 #24 Share Posted March 7, 2007 I had no luck with emails for the Pineapple Resort. I tried twice. I called them up, phone number is listed on the website, an immediately I was connected to reservations and reserved 2 day passes (B) for April 11th. It came to $49.50 per person. I would make the phone call closer to your arrival date. P.S. Anyone going to the resort on April 11th and would like to share transportation?? Let me know and we can exchange info. Larry ;)
Watermanfunari Posted March 8, 2007 #25 Share Posted March 8, 2007 HI, I am glad you enjoyed this resort so much. Can I ask you a few questions? Was the waters calm? I hate to go to a beach where the water is so rough, I like to take my raft with me and just float in the calm water, so let me know about this. Also, How long of a drive from the ship to the Resort? I think I have heard in the pst it took 1 hour to get there and 1 hour to get back. You said you arrived at 11am, what time did your ship pull in? Our ship will be pulling in at 9 so I would like to get there as soon as possible. We are there until 5, so I need to know what time to start to head back to the ship. and is their time the same as ship time? I know alot of people miss the ship because they forget the time change, if any. Thanks for your help. Sue
