$$ on seapass for children

Recommended Posts

We are wanting to do our seapass in cash. We would like to set up our kids (under 17) on their own cash accounts (they have their own spending money). Is this possible and how do we set it up? How much money would we need to put down for each account?

You might be able to set that up when you check in, or you can do it for sure once you get on the ship. Go to Guest Services and they will set it up for you.

When you put the cash onto your childs seapass remember to sign paperwork that says they can only spend what you have put on the account...otherwise they can spend up to around $500 !!!!

When you do your set sail pass there will be a bit that asks about how you want their account to work...you just pick Cash and then go to Pursers Desk when you get on the ship and put the cash on the Seapass account.:D

Oh come on cheapskates. Put them on your credit card.....after all this IS a FAMILY vacation!

But come Sunday morning when you find out your 15 yr old spent 400 dollars in the arcade, the Family is not paying the credit card bill, you are.

I know, now your going to say something about teaching kids responsibility blah, blah blah. I have been reading these boards long enough to know that this happens and they use their cell phone at sea, yet another 400 dollar surprise. Plus you are less exposed to theft if they lose their card.

i've never done anything other than put the seapass spending for DS (11) on the credit card, and then talk to him about what he can or cannot buy/spend on the ship. and it has never, ever been a problem or beyond the limits that we discussed at the start of the cruise or in the car on the drive down to the port. he has complied with arcade budgets, not gone crazy at ben & jerry's nor the ship's stores, or any other problems.
