Cinderelli Posted August 2, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2004 Hi -- I have heard the pools were open as you board the ship on the Conquest. I then heard the pools were covered. Anyone been on the Conquest recently to let us know -- can my kids swim as soon as we board? That's all they are talking about!!! Thanks! :o
modnar Posted August 2, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 2, 2004 We cruise on Conquest on 7/11/2004, and I'm pretty sure the aft pool on the Sun Deck was covered, but I think at least one of the main Lido pools was open. Sorry I can't be more sure. Can anyone else confirm?
elvisillusions Posted August 2, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 2, 2004 In February the pools were empty when we boarded, but once we started heading down the MS river, the hot tubs were open for adults...
sea_u_onboard Posted August 3, 2004 #4 Share Posted August 3, 2004 We sailed in March of last year and the pools were empty. Maybe it depends on the time of year.
GoinCruisin Posted August 3, 2004 #5 Share Posted August 3, 2004 We sailed the Sensation in July and the pools were closed when we boarded.... I believe it was open soon after we sailed away? Then again, I had been sipping foo foos for about 4 hours at that point :D
Cinderellie Posted August 4, 2004 #6 Share Posted August 4, 2004 Were any of the pools open as soon as you boarded?
Cinderellie Posted August 23, 2004 #7 Share Posted August 23, 2004 Were any of the pools open when or soon after you boarded? Leaving Sunday!!!
DollyCruise Posted August 23, 2004 #8 Share Posted August 23, 2004 Depends when you sail, it may be too cold. The pools are generally open and if they aren't....it won't be long. Dolly :)
Cinderellie Posted August 23, 2004 #9 Share Posted August 23, 2004 We leave 8/29 -- this Sunday. I hope it's not too cold then! All my kids can think about is getting in the pool since camp has been over for 2 weeks now!
tef43 Posted August 23, 2004 #10 Share Posted August 23, 2004 More often than not, the pools are *closed* on embarkation day. Probably because they were still being cleaned, disinfected, sanitized, you get the idea, from the prior week.
selucrey Posted August 23, 2004 #11 Share Posted August 23, 2004 We were on the Conquest a couple of weeks ago and the pools were closed. If I'm not mistaken, they fill them with saltwater and this can't happen until after the ship reaches the Gulf.
loriann Posted August 23, 2004 #12 Share Posted August 23, 2004 Are the hottubs filled with sea water too?
serene56 Posted August 23, 2004 #13 Share Posted August 23, 2004 Lori the hottubs are filled with sea water too but the water is crystal clear. The only way you will know its sea water is by tasting it.. CInderelli: I know the kids are going drive you crazy to swim but once you get onboard and get to the buffet and eat a lunch and check out the kid areas- and show them the dining room and their table where they will eat..get ready for the mustar drill..next thing ya know its gonna be sail away time (make sure ya take bubble guns) then time to get ready for dinner. By the time dinner is over you will go to the kids meeting to learn about all the activities they will offer your kids all week. Then the pools should be opened. (whew- Im worn out already
JrMafia90 Posted August 23, 2004 #14 Share Posted August 23, 2004 The first thing we do when we board is EAT! I didn't notice if the pools were open. I don't think they were.
