mrdood Posted May 19, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2007 Can anyone validate this from a recent cruise:confused: Is it just for drawing cash off the credit card, or is it also applied to getting Casino cash charged to the S&S Can I receive a cash advance on my credit card ?Global Cash Access (GCA) provides guests with cash advance services by using the guest’s credit card. The following credit cards are acceptable: Visa MasterCard The Discover Card Diners Club This service is provided with a 5.5% service charge to the guest. Both the Information Desk and the Casino offer this service. Limits are determined by the available credit limit on the person’s credit card. You would be actually giving them your credit card rather than your S&S card. I think the major difference is you can get an unlimited amount(based on your credit limit) with the cash advance, but with your S&S card you are limited to $1000 per day. I know its been on the carnival website since the first of the year.
firefly333 Posted May 19, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 19, 2007 I think Princess which is owned by Carnival has this same policy, thats why I just bring cash with me and if I needed emergency cash then I would just pay the fee.

Yep - that's the way it has been. 5.5% for cash from your credit card 3% for S&S card chips Tom
serene56 Posted May 19, 2007 #6 Share Posted May 19, 2007 whats the difference--when onboard the ship you are using your sign and sail card at a 3% so why would a person use their credit card to get cash? is the 3% only for cash passengers since majority use credit cards? If you have TAPPED the casino CASH that you brought along to play with (assuming you brought any) - AND you have already hit your $1000 daily limit (using your S&S card) in the casino. THEN the only way to play more (if that is your desire) is to either hit the ATM (w/associated fees) or the Casino cage (5.5%) with your credit or debit card. If it is only a couple of hundred you want, then the ATM is your better "bet" ( :D ). If you want thousands, then off to the cage! Tom
