"Sign & Sail Card @ slot machines? Is this true?

Forgive me if this has been asked and answered. I tried doing a search but could not find any answers.

I was looking at some recent capers and in there it mentions:

"Coinless gaming is here, use your S&S card to upload and download your credits on your slot machine." How does this work? I know almost all casinos here in nearby AC all use paper tickets when you cash out but what is with the "upload and download with the S&S card?

Also about fees,its says:

"A 3% charge will apply to S&S transactions at the cage or tables,NO FEE for all transactions at the Slots Machines." Does this mean I can get money from my account by putting in my S&S card into a slot machine?

That could be scary if it is linked to my credit card and I lose the Sign & sail card. What would prevent anyone from getting cash from my credit card?

Hopefully I am misunderstanding this. If someone could please explain :)

Thanks alot

Carol

You can upload funds to your slot machine by debiting from your S&S card...and in return, credit any unused funds remaining on a machine back to your S&S.

On your initial play, you program the card with a "code". It wouldn't be easy for someone to access your credit card (using your S&S) without your personal code.

IF you lose your S&S card, go immediately to the Purser's Desk and report it missing.

The last cruise we were on you could do that. Good thing we didn't find out till the last day. We put $$$ on S&S card just from the casino!!! You create your own password to acess the account. Hope that helps

We don't use the feature that I think refers to the 3% for charging cash to your sign and sail to then gamble with. We did use the sign and sail in a similar way to the paperless system. Say I put $20 in a machine and win an additional $20. I now want to move to a different machine. I "upload" the $40 to my account, go to another machine and then "download" an amount between $10 and the $40 dollars I have available. Ten dollars is the minimum you can download. Any amounts below that can be paid out at the cage.

When I won $300 on our recent trip there was no paper pay out or coin pay out; I uploaded it to the sign and sail account and went and cashed it out at the cage.

Thank you everyone for the information. I was hoping that there would be some type of "pin number" that I would have to set to use this.

I kind of like the idea of being able to access cash through the slot machine this way its less that I have to take with me. Just hopefully I can take it with me and not leave it in the machine :) (always seems to work out that way)

thanks again

Carol

They will give you one of those little thingies that you can get in the regular casinos that have a hole punched in your card and the other end attacts to you clothing or wrist-I know there is a name for it but I am having a middle aged moment and can't remember what it is.

That is what usually happens between DH and I. One of us wins and one of us loses. I say ~ CUT OUT THE MIDDLE MAN...JUST GIVE ME YOUR MONEY. ;):p:rolleyes:

I was just reading about using the sign & sail card in the casino. If I use a credit card for my sign & sail card, can I still upload funds to the slot machines? Will it just be charged to my credit card, or do I have to deposit cash to the sign & sail card and then upload those funds to the slot machines? I hope this is clear. Thanks for your help. It would be nice to not have to bring casino cash with me on the cruise.

On our cruise a few weeks ago I left my card in the slot machine. I walked around the ship, hit the lido for some pizza and went back to the room. That's when I found out that I didn't have my card.

I hustled down to the casino and talked to someone there who calmed me down and said no one could use my card. It was found in the machine and turned into the casino cashier.

Checked my account and there were no charges that I didn't make.

Carol,

You get to set your own PIN, you do it the first time you try to use your S&S card in the slot machine.

Yes! You can insert your S&S card into the slot machine and debit the money to your room. You may also put your winnings back on the card.. But you have to go to the Cashiers Desk to take the cash off the card.. Dont forget to do this or you will loose the money when you leave the ship.

Keep your card in the slots because if you rack up 1000 points they will give you $10 (believe me, i spent a lot of time in the casino, it takes a long time to get to 1000)

Ask for one of the lanyards they have for the S&S card so you do not forget it in the machine!
