takeavacation Posted August 28, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 28, 2007 I do -- my cabin is on deck 3 - oceanview near the "on the air" club. I've hear that the club is pretty smoky -- can you let me know if the whole area is smoky -- including where the cabin hallways are? Thanks -- have a great cruise -- I'm getting on when you get off!:)

Langley Cruisers Posted August 29, 2007 #7 Share Posted August 29, 2007 I do -- my cabin is on deck 3 - oceanview near the "on the air" club. I've hear that the club is pretty smoky -- can you let me know if the whole area is smoky -- including where the cabin hallways are? We found the smokiest areas to be the casino (especially near the Photo Desk), the outer smoking decks (obviously), and one of the pubs in the Promenade... shoot, I forget the name of it... but it was always smoky. During the day, the On Air Club was fine, not smoky; didn't go at night.

I'm happy to find out whatever I can while on board! I have a few questions if you can find out about the specialty restaurants. First - What is the earliest and latest time for reservations? Second - Is the menu the same every night or does it change during the cruise? Have a great time!
karena1 Posted August 29, 2007 #10 Share Posted August 29, 2007 Have a great time. Please post a review when you get back. We go next April and cannot wait. What transportation did you use from the Marriott to South Beach?
Krickett Posted August 30, 2007 #12 Share Posted August 30, 2007 I have been wondering about Sorrento's, if you have a chance drop by and check it out. I have heard or read that they are open upon boarding so this would be an option instead of the Wind Jammer, and we are not big buffet fans; so i was looking forward to this. Langley Cruisers thanks for sharing your pictures, it felt like de ja vu for me; same hotel, many of the same shots just Liberty instead of Navigator, you must have the same camera eye as my DH:D Only we have more food shots:eek: What did you do in San Juan after the Fort? We were thinking of having dinner there. In St. Marteen did you enjoy Maho Beach, we as well are thinking of visiting, were else did you go that you would recommend. I felt sad when i seen the "Friday" mat, de ja vu all over again. Thanks Again for sharing, makes if feel closer!!! Only 44 days and counting........ dachshunddoglover Posted August 30, 2007 #13 Share Posted August 30, 2007 Please find out if Liberty is indeed replacing the Mariner in Port Canaveral when the Mariner is moved. Thanks so much! E-Beth
Langley Cruisers Posted August 30, 2007 #14 Share Posted August 30, 2007 What transportation did you use from the Marriott to South Beach? Hi - we took a taxi to South Beach and back; each way we gave the driver $20.00. He dropped us at 4th and Ocean (I think!!), which seemed to be the start of the main drag, and it was also an easy walk across the street to the Beach access where we dipped our toes. :) What did you do in San Juan after the Fort? We were thinking of having dinner there. In St. Marteen did you enjoy Maho Beach, we as well are thinking of visiting, were else did you go that you would recommend. We docked in San Juan late, about 3 pm, so we just walked for a while and found we ended up at both forts... we weren't planning that but we enjoyed the afternoon. It was very hot and 2 out of 4 of us were not feeling well that day, so we just decided to head back to the ship to freshen up and have dinner. Sorry to not be of more help. In St. Maarten, we rented a car and drove to Maho Beach, and I can't tell you what a thrill it was. Words do not describe... after watching the videos and seeing pictures for 2 years, we needed to do this. Yes, it was fantastic. :) The beach itself wasn't fabulous; I've seen pictures and there are many other more scenic and lovely beaches for swimming and sunbathing, but for the excitement of the planes landing, we decided to do Maho that day. hawkfish, sorry to hi-jack your thread. Have a great cruise on Liberty. ~Karen
hawkfish Posted August 30, 2007 Author #15 Share Posted August 30, 2007 hawkfish, sorry to hi-jack your thread. Have a great cruise on Liberty. ~Karen NP - I had these same questions. :) I've promised DH that we will go to Maho this time, but we will probably just take a taxi. And I will print this out and try to get the answers. I will have my laptop, so I will try to post while on board. It's so hard for me to believe that we are leaving tomorrow morning!!! Hi Faye ..... and will also be writing one of my "leave no detail unturned" reviews of this ship! But because I'm anticipating it to be ... um .... you know .... about 50 pages long .... it might take a while to get it all written, but I'll put a link up here. ;)

Have a great cruise on Liberty. ~Karen I will second going to Maho. We have done it twice now, and it is an experience not to be missed. First time we actually stayed in St Maarten for the week so went to Maho for the day and actually sat at SSBB and watched the sunset. Last year we were on the Serenade and we took a cab over for the day. There is just nothing like watching those planes come in and take off. It is just a fun day. lephysteria Posted August 30, 2007 #19 Share Posted August 30, 2007 I agree!!! :D The sand treatment you get on that beach which was created by the jet engine blast is a natural exfoliant! :D
kendallison Posted August 30, 2007 #20 Share Posted August 30, 2007 I have one! I've heard the Liberty does not yet have the luggage valet service. (This is where you pay $10-$20 per person and your luggage goes directly to the airport after the cruise so you are free to spend the day in Miami without dragging your luggage along.) Can you ask if and when this program is expected to be available for the Liberty? I really need this service for our November cruise since our flight is not until 7:20 PM. Thanks! hawkfish Posted September 2, 2007 Author #22 Share Posted September 2, 2007 Hey, everyone! I've got a few answers for your questions. There are Chocolate Mint martinis on the menus, and they sound delicious. There is actually an extensive martini menu, and I got photos, so I will post those when we get back. Sorrento's was open when we boarded at noon. We haven't tried the food yet, but I can let you know what it's like once we do. The 3rd floor was not smoky last night, but mostly because everyone went to bed early! Seriously, we practically had the ship to ourselves after midnight. I will check again when more people are up and about. And I've talked to a couple of different people, including CD Ken Rush, who is amazing, btw. He does NOT believe that LOS will replace the Marinar, mostly because things just run so smoothly out of MIA, and because they want to maintain a Saturday departure and a Sunday departure out of MIA (basically the overlapping figure 8 deal that they have going with LOS and FOS). But if I hear anything otherwise, I will let you know. Let me know if I've missed anything, or if you have any other questions. Back to the fun!!! We are having a fantastic time!!! Elizanessie Posted September 2, 2007 #23 Share Posted September 2, 2007 Hi Hawkfish :D If you are talking to Ken Rush again...could you please ask him if he will be coming over the pond for the Independence Launch next year :D Many thanks

Susan I've asked the pursers desk and they do not have this service yet. They do agree that it is a good idea and some other ships might have it, but not the Liberty. And the karaoke club isn't that smokey (imho). Your cabin should be fine.
