Kapuna Posted September 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2007 My wife and I are booked on B2B cruises on the Pacific Princess . We will have the same cabin for both cruises . Do we have to get off the ship at the end of the first cruise and then go through the full boarding procedure for the second cruise ? I assume that a new key card is needed , etc., but can this be done onboard ? Would like to hear from anyone with recent B2B experience .
paul929207 Posted September 11, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 11, 2007 We have not done a b2b yet, but are booked for b2b2b next March. It is my understanding that the last night of the first cruise you will get a new cruise card. If you get off the ship on the ending day for the frst cruise, you use your cruise card from the first to get off and the second card to reboard. Things may be slightly different since you will have visited different ports but generally speaking: You get off the ship as a group. All B2B passengers meet and are escorted through immigration (hand in your document, stamp your passort.) As long as everyone is at the meeting place on time you should be able to get through the process fairly quickly. You then go right back on board - no check in required. We kept our key cards but I have heard others who have received new with the packet of information you receive the day before the last day of your first segment. You won't be able to sleep in but hopefully you will have time to roam around the ship before the new passengers board. (I thought that was fun.) You also get to skip the muster drill! (I liked that part too!) Have a wonderful time. The best part about about a B2B is you get to enjoy another segment. Its like wishing it would last longer and "poof" it does! As mentioned, you will get the card usually the last night of the first cruise. You do need a new card. Depending of your turnaround port, you may need to disembark to go through immigration (or it could be done aboard). In the Caribbean with disembarked but in Tahiti we did not. You will also need to "register" the new card with your picture like you did when first boarding. They will explain how and when to do that. Have a great cruise. sail7seas Posted September 12, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 12, 2007 If your 'turnaround day' is FLL, you will have to leave the ship very briefly merely to clear Immigration. You should wait until they are calling the last groups to disembark, go into the terminal and clear Immigration and can then reboard the ship, if you wish. If you want, you may stay ashore for the day. The reason I say wait until disembarkation is almost over is because Officials often will not let you reboard until everyone from the cruise has left the ship. If you wait until the end, you can go right back aboard.
WeBeGone Posted September 12, 2007 #6 Share Posted September 12, 2007 Our b2b in Tahiti was so simple. We got off early for a day tour and when we returned, we showed our old card to get on and our new cards were waiting at security.
Kapuna Posted September 12, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted September 12, 2007 It appears that the procedure varies depending on the ship and destination . Thank you for your comments .
Eddie4Paws Posted September 13, 2007 #8 Share Posted September 13, 2007 Question for you back-to-backers.... when you booked your cruise, did you have to leave double the deposit (i.e. one for each week), or was one deposit sufficient for the two cruises? Do you get two sets of travel documents, too?

Do you get two sets of travel documents, too? We were required to make 2 deposits-one per cruise, got 2 booking numbers, and 2 sets of docs. Of course we always have FCC's so that meant only $200 per cruise instead of $900.

m steve Posted September 14, 2007 #11 Share Posted September 14, 2007 we are booked for a Med cruise that starts in Venice and returns there for 2 days in the middle and then ends in Barcelona. We have a single booking and the same cabin. Will we be getting new cards and docs for the second half? I have heard that we can buy our booze on board on the first half and have them for the second part in our cabin.

Murphey Posted September 14, 2007 #13 Share Posted September 14, 2007 Yes..you can buy booze from the ship and it will be delivered to your stateroom the day before the cruise ends. Then you have it for the second cruise......we've done this many times!!
FLACRUISER99 Posted September 14, 2007 #14 Share Posted September 14, 2007 Or buy on the last day, they will let take it with you. By the way, if you only get one booking number you will only get credit for one:eek: cruise for Captains Circle.

Do you get two sets of travel documents, too? We booked our b to b as a 14 day cruise with two different itineraries for the southern carribean. The price was better than if we booked two cruises back to back.. Princess was running a special when we booked with only $100.00 deposit down per person for our b to b. We tend to try different cruise lines so it wasn't that important to us to work towards the Capts. Circle. Linda
