Booking Guaranteed Room direct w/Carnival

Here's my take-

I reserved the awesome 2462 room on the Valor and a guarantee balcony on the Valor two summers ago. I am frequent CCL cruiser, stock holder, and had work with this same CCL PVP twice in the past.

So, what did I get?

I got an ordinary balcony room, no upgrade, but what was real, real bad was that this room was toward the front of the ship, about as far away as possible from my other cabin (the 2462 room). Personally, I won't deal with CCL pvp's again as I can get the same price from a TA along with a free excursion or some other spiff tossed in. The only time I have ever got an upgrade was when RCL turn my balcony guarantee in a handicap accessible balcony, which has the same space as a minisuite!

I have a question ....do I have a better chance of getting an

upgraded room when I book directly with Carnival vs.

using Travelocity or Costco? I am going to book a

guaranteed inside.

Many thanks.

Not really any better chance but your going to pay more for sure booking directly with Carnival.:)
