LoyallyLOST Posted November 14, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2007 My husband & I would like to know if there are any cruises that stay in port overnite or perhaps for more than one nite? We loved our 7 day cruise, we just didn't have enuff time at each port. We would rather spend our time visiting these locals than on the water. Thanx! Wilba Posted November 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 14, 2007 I can help if you intend to cruise in Europe. Rome (Civetevecchia) & Venice are becoming popular overnight stays.
Rare Keith1010 Posted November 14, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2007 Several cruise ships that cruise in places such as Australia/New Zealand, Southeast Asia, Europe and The Middle East/Africa will have overnights. Closer to home, if you cruise from the USA to Bermuda the ships have overnights in Bermuda. Keith
cassie55 Posted November 14, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 14, 2007 We have overnighted at Venice and Istanbul (Med cruise) and Copenhagen and St Petersburg(Baltics). Both on NCL. We love overnight stops as you do get more time to see the cities. Especially someone like St Petersburg where a one day stop would not be anything like long enough. f7prez Posted November 14, 2007 #5 Share Posted November 14, 2007 There are several cruises out of the Northeast (NY, Boston) that go to Bermuda and stay for 3 or 4 days. They are very popular for that reason. Plus they tend to be more affordable than staying at a hotel and paying for meals. See sample Itinerarys here http://www.ncl.com/nclweb/booking/cruisedetails.html?packageId=1214508 and here http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/cruiseDetails/itineraryAndPricing.do;jsessionid=0000WwGAc_xZ0bMmRFlfXi5JACs:12hbioe0u?packageCode=EX05B004&date=ANY&selectedCurrencyCode=USD&promoType=&hasSenior=&hasMilitary=&state=
Krazy Kruizers Posted November 14, 2007 #6 Share Posted November 14, 2007 We have overnighted in Istanbul, Venice, Barcelona, St Petersberg, Honolulu. Different cruise lines and different cruises. We have over nighted In Bermuda - again different cruise lines. But you find that fewer cruise lines are going to Bermuda.
kitty9 Posted November 14, 2007 #7 Share Posted November 14, 2007 If you're talking Caribbean cruises or ones that cruise in Mexico or Alaska, you won't find many, if any, that do overnights. For those, you have to take a more exotic itinerary for overnight stays. The most popular overnights seems to be for St. Petersburg in Russia and Venice, Rome and Vietnam. kiraryker Posted November 14, 2007 #8 Share Posted November 14, 2007 In January we are cruising Carnival Destiny Southern Caribbean and we get into LaRomana at 3pm and don't leave until 5pm the next day - so that is an overnight. We are in a port everyday for our 7 day cruise!!
mojean Posted November 14, 2007 #9 Share Posted November 14, 2007 The Sensation is doing overnighter in Nassau 7am - 7am, 3 and 4 day.
janetz Posted November 14, 2007 #10 Share Posted November 14, 2007 The Sensation is doing overnighter in Nassau 7am - 7am, 3 and 4 day. Nassau is a place you don't even want to bother with. Dirty and the locals hound you!
Spikesgirl Posted November 14, 2007 #11 Share Posted November 14, 2007 Tahiti - you stay overnight in Papeete, Bora Bora and Moorea of at least we will on (and did) our cruise. Charlie P.S. It would help if you gave folks an idea of where you'd like to overnight...

kadeycat Posted November 18, 2007 #13 Share Posted November 18, 2007 If you sail NCL in Hawaii, they have overnites in Maui and in Kauai. We really enjoyed the extra time in port.
hotmike98 Posted November 18, 2007 #14 Share Posted November 18, 2007 When we did a 7 day Baltic cruise on Regent, we had three days and two overnights in St. Petersburg; we were able to see the things we wanted without feeling rushed.
