I'll be at the meeting on the 12th. to change the voting procedures. Will let you know what happens. But anything might in the mean time the way things are going with Kwan jumping the Shark.
Canucks are almost as bad as the Leafs for playing with the heart strings of their fans. I'm almost just following the DUB these days. Now there is a horse race to be 3rd. :D

Good to see that the Coyotoes are drawing such good crowds - 10,000 or so a game - sure the other owners are happy throwing there money away - once they use up there tax advantages they will bale and bale fast and Bettman will be forced to move the team -

Buthead err I mean Betman will be happy if the Coyotes have to move, he is salivating at the thought of putting a team into Las Vegas, where they might draw 50 -100 people more than Phoenix! The way that idiot keeps changing the rules, all too soon a game will be 4 quarters with a 1/2 time show and nets as big as Soccer nets!

Since we are cruising along memory lane my one game at the old Forum was while I was attending a student liberal convention and we were offered standing room only tickets to watch a game - I beleive that the Flyers were the opponent. Those were my drinking days so I doubt that I was sober which probably is why I don`t remember too many details about the game.

Cruising out of here - time for supper - might even put on the tele and watch the game.

Dennis. you must have been drinking cause I don't think the "Flyers" played in the old Forum... maybe a really fast Western Hockey League game with a team from the south in orange :)
PAc Coliseum was completed in 68 I think, and the first NHL game wasn't until 70.
The WHL Canucks played 3 seasons there I think beforre they were bought out and joined as an NHL team in 70.


RED..Joe Kapp is not a hockey player . Think Sam Etcheverry's sport :)

And Gene certainly was a great guy got to know him in the early 70's and then our paths crossed many times in Point Roberts. His memorial service at the reef was "Memorial"

I`m referring to the old Montreal forum - not the PNE one.

As for Canada`s greatest athlete - the late great Kiniski - here`s a story - my late father did some bartending and got a call one night from one of Gene`s crew looking for someone to bartend a function at Gene`s place in Blaine - well dad accepted the offer - wages + one hour travel pay each way - Gene`s instructions were simple - all drinks minimum 3 oz no questions asked - dad talked about that for many years.

Chatted with the Minister of Citizen Services at the Santa Claus Parade today - she is my MLA and I did some work on her campaign - she hasn`t endorsed anyone yet but she certainly is enjoying the NDP`s death wish.

Ahh yes the Flower, one of the younger Immortals! Now we have a good team again, Price in nets, a bunch of small fast fowards, PK Subban and other young D Men. The drive for 25 is alive!
When Les Glorieux played the Cannots earlier this season, I read a team official moaning that the Habs played a fast wide open passing sort of game, not the tight checking sort they were used to playing! Have they never heard about Fire Wagon Hockey?:rolleyes::D:p

Another interesting day in Politics in BC - there is a major rainfall warning in effect for the south Coast and Vancouver Island - must be NDPèrs shedding tears over their leader resigning - wonder how many people actually believe that she was bullied into leaving - about as believable as Gordo not knowing about the HST before the last election.

Seriously I am getting close to deciding on a cruise for next year - not having one planned actually increases my stress level more than the actual planning of the trip.

If she stays on until after May of 2012 she will have enough years to collect her MLA pension - however I think the new Liberal Premier will call an early election and tie the HST vote in with it.

PD - trust you had a relaxing trouble free cruise - good to see that twit you have for an MLA is one of the baker`s dozen - heard a good bit of gossip at a Liberal function on Saturday morning - apparently the BC Fed was willing to pay off the NDP`s bank loan of about $1 million BUT only if James resigned immediately so I guess money talks - I actually rejoined the party - now that Gordo is gone I am willing to rejoin to rebuild the Party and help keep the Socialist hoardes at bay.

We have our delegate meeting in Jan but so far I haven`t aligned with anyone but given some of the stuff about BC Rail that is coming out I would be concerned about Christy being the leader.

Had a big turkey dinner last night for a few friends - still trying to decide what cruise to book for next year - looking for a price drop before I book the Panama Canal one.
