Pan American Pier

I just booked Adventure of the Seas-Jan.11 and have never sailed out of San Juan. I have been there twice on other cruises that sail into the Old San Juan piers. What I would like to know is has anyone stayed at the Courtyard Miramar? I have Marriott Reward points I want to use for the hotel stay on Jan. 10 and it looks like this is close to the Pan Am Pier. Has anyone stayed there? If so how much is cab fare from the airport to this location and then from this location to the pier?

We stayed at the Courtyard Isla Verde last year. I can't remember the cab fare but it wasn't outrageous or anything. I do know that many people on my roll call were staying at Courtyard Miramar so hopefully you'll get some responses. Have a great trip. We loved the S Carib route!

That hotel is fairly close to the Pan American Pier. There are three Marriott's. The one in Isla Verde, (that is the furthest away from the pier) then The Marriott Stellaris Hotel and Casino in the Condado area, (between the airport and your hotel) and the one you are staying in for business travelers.

The trip from the airport is about 20-25 minutes and I will post you a map with the taxi price guide as soon as I bring it up. ;)

I believe we paid about $18.00 in November to go to the Marriott Stellaris which is several blocks closer to the airport than yours. The taxi fares are regulated so you know the charge before you get into them. ;)

Scroll down and you will find all the information about the taxi prices and just about everything else you need to know about San Juan and the local areas.

I do not know if people realize that when you open this San Juan map, it does not just show you where your pier and the hotels are. If you click on the names of the hotels, it opens to show their websites with all their information such as pictures, prices and such..

Of course many of the hotels are not listed that are closer to the airport.

This website was created by Cruise Critic Clubber. He has done a great job of putting information there for all of us to use..

We are leaving in two weeks for AOS and flying in the day before. We are also using points for our stay. I will try and post hotel report for Miramar and taxi info upon return after April 13.

We stayed at the Hotel Miramar which nearby and according to this web site the taxi should cost $9 for up to 5 paxs plus the luggage handling fees of $.50 for first three and $1 each for more. Miramar is very close, just across Hwy #1 from Isla Grande where the Pan Am cruise terminal is.

Wife and I stayed at Courtyard Miramar this past Feb for an AOS cruise. Enjoyed the hotel however the restaurant leaves much to be desired. There are a number of local far with in 1 - 2 blocks walk and would suggest any of them over the hotel eatery.

The Courtyard is under 15 min from the Pier, 2 people 4 bags, $15 incuding tip. The hotel will tell you to go to the ship late, mowever my wife really wanted to go over and try to get on. One of the fastest boardings ever. From the time we hit the Pier we were onboard AOS in less then 20 min (including depature pics) and before 12:00.

Down side to the Courtyard, one (1) elevator so getting bags down in the morning can be a challange as when we were ther had many cruisers staying.

AOS is a great boat with a wonderful crew. You will have a great time!

Does this hotel have any view? We requested a suite set up (king + sofa ) so not sure what floor that is on. However thinking ground floor may be answer.
