Free internet to print airline boarding passes?

Many hotels have free internet areas just to access airlines and print your boarding passes....does NCL (especially the Star) have this or do you have to pay the regular internet rates to check in and print your boarding passes?

Thanks:)

It's just like free drinks in casinos on land. They aren't free on a ship (with certain exceptions for CAS). Free internet in a hotel is great. It's not free on a ship. You see, there's no competition like there is for the casinos or hotels on land. You've already chosen your ship, so you are captive. Same with high prices on water, cokes, liquor!

if you have a coupon book in your cabin, pray it has one for 10 free internet minutes in it.

But something else might work. NCL has a bags program where NCL will take care of your suitcases for a fee. They transport them so your arms are free, and possibly the fee includes giving you your airline boarding pass. Please check these boards for "BAGS." Or check NCL's website.

They only offer the "Bags" program in HNL and SEA. It is not free. In Hawaii they charge $19.95 per person, not per bag. I have used this program there and worth every penny. For the Alaska itins it is a little cheaper, it think $12.95/per person.

If you are not already using the internet, I would not spend the money. after all, you surely still have to check in at the airport since you have luggage.

Some airlines do allow you to do advance checking via the telephone. Check the website for yours.

Airline hint - know in advance what other flights are available before and after your scheduled one. Take that with you on your cruise. You just never know what may take place.

Vancouver has it, too. I didn't have to touch my bags from the time I placed them in the hall the night before disembarkation until I picked them up in Atlanta (and they WERE there). We had to buy the cruise ship's transfer to the airport in addition.

As far as checking your suitcases if you don't use the bags program, you CAN do that at the curb or a kiosk, depending on the airport, even if you are not checked in but have your ticket in your hand. Actually, maybe you ARE checking in when they do that. I guess my point is that you don't have to stand in line in the terminal, just give them to the porter at the curb and go to the boarding gate.

The BAGS program isn't an option for us for a couple of reasons. a) we're doing carry-on as it's only a 3 night cruise b) we plan on spending the day in Vancouver before going to the airport for our evening flight so we won't be using the ship's transfer to the airport and c) I'm hoping we get upgraded via my preferred status so if I can check in online and get boarding passes I don't have to check in at the airport counter. But I won't know if we're upgraded until 24 hours before the flight when we can check in online. Guess I'll have to pay the online charges and use the ship's internet cafe.....thanks everone!:D

Need to do upgrades at 24 hours or call in, like with Southwest. Here is what frequent travelers have learned to do.

Get somebody back home to do it for you. If you are on the ship, it is probably worth $2.50 to call your family and have them do it for you. Leave flight number, Freq Flyer, and pin number with them in advance.

Actually the fabulous thing with USAir is they do it automatically!:D You don't even have to ask. I've had it done up to 48 hours before the flight several times. But I need to checkin online and print my own boarding passes...no one at home can do that for you.

Just home from the Star. Not sure if this will happen for your cruise, but on our last sea day, they offered a deal... 30 minutes for $12 if I remember right...40 cents per minute. And it costs $3.95 to activate your account. Regular price is 75 cents per minute and there are other packages that bring the price down. And 50 cents per page to print.

30 min. is probably not enough to print out 2 boarding passes. Most of that time will be spent watching the screen load.

I stood in line waiting for a computer on the Gem, then spent about 45 min. printing out 2 boarding passes. When we got to the airport in Barcelona, the US Air ticket agent just tossed them in the garbage and printed out airline boarding passes.

It might be worth the time and expense if you have no luggage to check. Otherwise, I don't bother anymore.

On past cruises, I have gone to the conceirge office to print my boarding passes. So, if you are sailing in a category AE or above or maybe if you are a certain lattitude level... just go and ask.
