Brown Eyed Gurl Posted May 25, 2008 #2 Share Posted May 25, 2008 Just back yesterday from Alaska on the Amsterdam. We had absolutely no rain!! It was drizzling in Seattle as we left the ship. Most days were sunny or at least partially sunny, temps from 40s-50s. We were told it had rained rather hard the 2 days prior to our arrival, so we lucked out! :D

Ony a bathing suit for the tile loungers. We're on a countdown. All the best.
brucory Posted May 25, 2008 #4 Share Posted May 25, 2008 We had ripper weather this week just passed, with not a day of rain, but ther locals were all a bit shocked by it. Apparantly it doesnt normally shine this much in their whole spring season. :D :D :D

Rare LAFFNVEGAS Posted May 25, 2008 #7 Share Posted May 25, 2008 I prefer to use accuweather it is usually pretty accurate but of course weather is always changing in Alaska but you can get a pretty good idea plus they actually have a 15 day forecast:D http://www.accuweather.com/forecast-15day.asp?partner=accuweather&traveler=1&zipChg=1&zipcode=99801&metric=
Rare LAFFNVEGAS Posted May 25, 2008 #8 Share Posted May 25, 2008 Oddly the weather forecast for Juneau for the next few days looks warmer and nicer than Las Vegas:eek:
jimgev Posted May 25, 2008 #9 Share Posted May 25, 2008 General Pacific Northwest Weather advice: Check all the predictions and bank on the opposite. You will have a 50/50 chance of being right.
Mary Ellen Posted May 25, 2008 #10 Share Posted May 25, 2008 You are far better off going with a weather forecast than reports of what others recently experienced while on an Alaskan cruise. What occurred last week, or even the day before your arrival in any port, doesn't have any correlation to what you can expect. As also mentioned, the weather forecasts don't mean much either. ;) This is why Alaskan cruisers are always told to 'layer'.
Brown Eyed Gurl Posted May 25, 2008 #11 Share Posted May 25, 2008 the weather forecasts don't mean much either I checked Accuweather right before we left, and rain was predicted for every port we visited. Luckily it was completely wrong. We had wonderful weather & no rain!! Hoping you have the same.
