Princess Captain's Circle

After cruising one cruise with Princess, I received a Gold Captain's Circle

card and benefits. My question is now that I'm enrolled, will I receive

junk mail to my home. I think the fine print says it is my responsibility

to notify them of any change of address. I'd rather not get junk mail

forever.

Occasionally we get pamphlets or emails from them on specials, etc. - about once every other week or so. Nothing too crazy.

You're kidding, right? Twice a month I'll be hearing from Princess Cruises?

That's junk mail to me and I guess I'll have to ask them to stop if you're not

kidding... Maybe once a year when the new brochure comes out is fine,

but not every other week!

My estimate is we receive 2-4 items from Princess a week. Now we have been on a few cruises and intend to go on others so if they want to waste the postage and paper I look at them and put them in with the other waste paper to be recycled.

Have a great next cruise.

LOL. You can change your settings to and opt out of getting anything from them. My DH gets the stuff in the mail and I get it in my inbox. I've not paid attention to the frequency.

Fine with me if they want to apprise me of specials at no cost to me.

I probably get something once a week from Princess... but (I know this is crazy) I actually like looking at the fliers. You never know when one is going to come along that you can't pass up.

I am sure you can call them and opt out.

I have been bombarded with junk mail and offers from Princess for the past year. Not only snail mail flyers but emails with specials.

First I thought it was because for the first time in many years, we didn't have a cruise booked with Princess. So, I booked two future sailings. After a couple of months, I figured maybe it would slow up, but nope, still getting maybe 5 mailings each week and several emails.

The thing is, their specials aren't really specials, as I can always beat their advertised price by a huge amount. :(

I called 1-800-PRINCESS today and asked them to suppress all

US mail and E-mail, including all special flyers, brochures and the

Captain's Circle Quarterly magazine. The Captain's circle rep said it

would take 6-8 weeks since some flyers are already printed and ready

to be mailed at their printer/mail distribution center. The rep said

that there are many customers who wish not to receive such mailings,

and their computer database is set up to be coded to reflect the customer's

preference.

Upshot: No big deal... I just called Princess Cruises and

told the rep my preference.

It's really weird how some people get many and others get none. I get an occasional brochure from Princess, but it's rare. And, I get no email specials. I don't know why as I would like to get some specials emailed to me at least once in awhile.
