"LIVE" from the Majesty / 06-21-2008

Recommended Posts

I made it off the ship by about 1015AM (Mrs Radio was picking me up).

The Immigration line was smooth (4 Officers), there was not much of a line.

I was able to pick up my luggage and make it through the terminal within about 5 minutes.

It was very fast and very easy.

After a short nap, I have been working on a nasty Virus (trojan) in my PC. . . . . Here are a few pics from Debarkation.

I will be be posting pics of all the Cabin categories tomorrow. . .

The Deck 5 Gangway has not been completed yet, so they are using Deck 2 Embarkation /Debarkation only.

Thanks for the live report.

I always say, love the Majesty for what she is, not what she is missing. I found this a charming little ship, I didn't even find myself comparing her to the bigger, flashier ships that I have sailed on. Thanks for being objecitve, can't wait to read more about your trip.

We hope to sail her again too before she leaves the fleet.

Thanks

Hello Radio (and Brother Radio!),

Thanks for taking us along - as always, I love your pictures.

We are planning on sailing on the Majesty next summer. I can't remember which deck you recommended - was it deck 7? Does that deck have a jogging track?

Again, thank you for spending your cruise time to share with us!

Deck 7 is very nice for CC Cabins. . . The Promenade Deck (Deck 7) is also a wrap around jogging / walking track.

There are no chairs and no smoking on the Promenade Deck (Outside)

There are only 2 Inside cabins on Deck 7. . the rest are Superior Ocean View Staterooms (Double / Trips, Quads)

Thanks,

Radio,

Thank-you so much for taking the time to post your "Live" report. I followed your report on the Westerdam earlier this year and couldn't help but come over to the NCL board to follow your trip here. We are booked on the Majesty out of Philadelphia on her Canadian/NE itinerary this fall so I followed this thread with great interest. I had never thought about going to Bermuda on a cruise since the idea of staying there for 3 days kind of put me off. But thanks to you I think I'll be taking a cruise to Bermuda next year. :D You really eased my mind about things to do there since I am not a "beach" person.

I'm sure my request is too late but did you happen to get a picture of the casino? Mom is interested in the size of it and the variety of slot machines.

Carol:

Please give Bermuda a try, esp. since the Majesty is leaving from Philly. Bermuda is the best destination ever-you can do as little or as much as you desire-all vacations are what you make of them. You will not be sorry you went. I can't imagine anyone going to Bermuda and deciding that once was enough!!

We usually go each year, and this our first NCL cruise as we are RCCL/Celebrity fans but this is the only way to get 3 overnights, and we live in So. Jersey so it's an easy trip to get to the ship!

There were 160 children on this sailing. . . I didn't pay attention to the Kids program, but the Kids Corner and Splash pool were on Deck 9 AFT.

I will be posting many pics of Dining and cabins throughout the day and tomorrow. . .

I loved checking in on your thread last week. I'm definitely booking a cruise to Bermuda, probably on the Majesty out of Philly. I'm also looking at the Sony cameras....just wondering which one you used the most on this cruise.

the Sony DSC-W50 can fit in your pocket. . . and the Sony DSC-H10 is a larger Camera, but can accept Wide Angle and Telephoto Lenses.

The DSC-W50 has been replaced by several models (DSC-W70, DSC-W80)

Thanks,

We sailed on the Majesty 6-21-6-28 with our 10 & 12 year old. This is the kids 3rd Cruise and we were not impressed at all with the kids program. Everytime I went to pick the kids up they were sitting watching movies. Not many kids on the ship I found out from talking to the Counselors. We are just used to the larger ships with all the bells & whistles. I found the kids were bored in the kids zone and wanting to hang out with us more than on previous cruises which was fine but they were just disappointed. We are planning on sticking to the larger ships in the future. Overall GREAT vacation Bermuda is the prize!

Here are a few cabin pics that I took while on Majesty. I waited until most passengers were off, and the Cabin Stewards were kind enough to let me take a few pics.

There are many more cabin pics that I took and can be viewed HERE

Just click on Norwegian Majesty.

Thanks for tuning in. . .

The Casino at Sea program will let NCL rate your play on slots and tables. They will give a Casino at Sea card which must be displayed while you are playing. . . You will be offered free drinks during play. You will have the possibility of earning rewards based on your rate of play.

It seems to be a very nice program. . . I am not a big spender in the Casino, but I will stll participate and see what happens.

So they really DO have a Casinos at Sea program huh? We are going to be on the Majesty in Oct for Canada/New England and was told that they didn't have that program. Do the slots have a place for the cards or do you just have to have it available?

Thanks for any info Janet

I loved your live report. I've been on the Majesty several times and love it. My kids have enjoyed the kids crew but we've always gone during the height of summer and there were tons of kids onboard.

I think the picture of the room on 6 forward is an AB, not a CC. I've never stayed in the AB, but I have stayed in the C and it didn't look like that.

They just give you a paper card (llooks like a business card) with your name, Cabin #, and a number that is assigned to you (NCL Casino @Sea #)

They ask you to make it "visible" during Slots or Table play .

You would think there would be alot of kids since we sailed last week but not so much at any given time there would be 5-7 kids in the 10-12 year olds. We have always been really impressed with Carnival & Royal Carribeans Kids program. But that's just our 2 cents of course.

Radio,

Nice photos of the Majesty and Bermuda. It looks like she had a new coat of paint and they replaced the blue deck pads or cleaned them. Thank you for sharing. We will miss the Majesty :( , she was our 1st cruise. :)

You mentioned your next "Live" would be from the Miracle in September. Is that the Carnival Miracle? Have you considered one from a Princess ship?

I have followed several of your "Live" threads and have throughly enjoyed them. Looking forward to the next one.

Yes I have considered Princess . . I usually sail with RCI, but this year I have sailed with RCI, HAL, NCL, and CCL in September.

Maybe next time will be Princess !

I sailed Grand Princess in 2003. . .

Radio, like countless others, I greatly enjoyed your reports. They bring back memories of five prior cruises to Bermuda, including one on the Majesty. Give your affinity for RCI, I am wondering which you would choose if offered at a similar price (which seems sometimes to be the case)--7 nights to St. Georges on NCL or 5 nights to the Dockyard on Grandeur of the Seas? Also, did anyone you spoke with have any hope that Bermuda might be able to attract a vessel small enough to continue cruises to St. Georges (or Hamilton) after the Dream and Majesty leave in 2008 and 2009 respectively?
