Radio, thanks so much for the wonderful pictures and stories! We are RCCL/Celebrity cruisers and are trying the Majesty on 9/20 since she provides the most time in wonderful Bermuda! We hope one of the Voyager class ships will use the new Dockyard. We were at Dockyard when nothing was there but were happy to be in Bermuda and took the taxis to get around. Thanks for the pictures of the ship-she reminds me of the Zenith which was our ride to Bermuda for many years! How is the temp in the cabins-we needed a fan for the Zenith so we'll take it for this one as well. We really wish RCCL/Celebrity will get back to a 7 night Bermuda again-1 overnight on the Explorer was just a tease! Once again, thanks for an excellent voyage!! Be safe!

Hello everyone. . . We are about 250nm from Cape Henry, VA. . . Where will pick up our Chesapeake Bay Pilots. (1 VA, and 1 MD Pilot).

We should arrive at the pilot Station by about 11 PM.

Then we overnight up the Bay, to Cruise Maryland.

We are scheduled for a 7AM arrival time.

Today will be a very busy day with many activities and shows. Here is a summary (not a complete list)

Walk A Mile 8AM

Morning Trivia 9AM

Texas Hold’Em Tournament 930AM

Debarkation Talk 10AM

Ping Pong Tournament 1030AM

Cruise Giveaway Bingo 1045AM

Lecture: Photofinishing Magic 11AM

Casino at Sea Slots Tournament 12 PM

Towel Animal Folding Demo 1PM

Pool Volleyball Crew vs. Passengers 2PM

NCL U Comedy Forum 3PM

Minute Mystery 445PM

Star Seeker Talent Show 6PM

Crew Show 730PM

Farewell Variety Show 930PM

There are a lot more activities on the Freestyle Daily. . .

I found it very interesting that you can pick your own Debarkation Time. You just choose the color of tag at the Purser’s Desk. They list the times of each color. Very Nice. . .

Thumbs Up for the Internet Café. . . I had a few problems connecting to CC on Tuesday (wasn’t able to connect at all). The Internet Mgr, checked my usage, and gave me a 70 min credit. . . Wow !

The seas are moderate today. . . It is a little rough. There is a lot of motion in the seas. It is the most rocking we have felt during this cruise. (Heading to Bermuda was like a ride on a lake !)

The Gulf Stream is probably causing the rough current. It is still sunny, and warm today. It doesn’t look like it will rain. We are currently sailing at 17 knots.

Here are a few pics from early today. . .

I know. . .I should be sleeping !

I will try to get back later today, and post more pics. Thanks for tuning in !

Hi Radio,

Glad I caught this thread. My family and I have been eyeing this ship and cruise for a few years now, as it goes out of Charleston, near our home. We keep chickening out, because of the size and condition of the ship. As you may recall, my DH and I finally gave up the notion of the Majesty, and took the Grandeur out of Maryland instead. Wonderful!

Now, my father is talking about going to Bermuda. However, after having a recent difficult time with flying (and the security procedures), I think that flying again is out of the question for my parents.

Since you have sailed on some really large ships in the past, how do you honestly feel about the Majesty? I know it will not matter once we get to Bermuda, but will we get bored on seas days? The Disney ships, HAL Noordam, Celebrity Century and the Grandeur are the smallest ships I have been on. I notice that you keep posting the same photos of the pool area. Is that all the Majesty has to offer? Are there other sunning decks? A promenade for reading? What about the interior rooms? Dining rooms?

I am glad to hear that the food is good. Can you give a little more detail about how the dining works on the Majesty? For breakfast and casual lunch, is there a Lido type restaurant as well?

I am anxious to see the rest of your stateroom photos. Although my parents would probably stay in a suite, the rest of us would have to take a stateroom like yours.

Sorry for all the questions. :o Glad you are having a great time and thanks so much for this live report.

For those of you heading out on the Majesty for an upcoming cruise, take time to check out the "NCL Roll Calls" on the Boards. You'll find the NCL Majesty listed, and once there, search the listings for your specific cruise date. If enough people can get together in advance for the same cruise date, it is my understanding that NCL will schedule a "Meet and Greet" for your Cruise Critic Board group. I've read from other postings that they provide you with some light refreshments, have some crew on hand for you to meet, and have also read somewhere that in the past they have done a drawing for dinner with the Captain, etc. If you're interested, please post on your roll call date, and I think all NCL needs is a head count. :) We are personally heading out for our second cruise to Bermuda (but first on NCL), and Radio's postings and pics have left me so excited to return! :D

Hello everyone. . . The seas have picked up a bit. We have gone from 5-10ft swells to 10-20 ft swells. It is rocking hard, but there are still many passengers on deck.

We are 145nm from Cape Hatteras, NC, and 171nm from the Cape Henry Pilot Station.

They have placed the appropriate sickness bags on all stairwells. . .

The Captain has suggested that we should arrive at the Pilot Station by 10PM.

Of coarse, all of the seas will be calm once we enter the Bay. . .

Someone asked about the Beer prices. . Here they are:

The cost for beer is 3.95 for Coors Light, MGD, Molson. The cost is 4.50 for all others including Bud, Bud Lite, Amstel Light, Bass, Beck’s. Corona, Guinness, Harp, Sam Adams, Sol.

Water is 2.50 11oz Evian, and 4.50 1 Liter Evian.

Soft Drinks are 1.25 Fountain, 1.75 Can.

There are no Drink Cards (for Alcohol)

Here are a few pics from this afternoon. . .

WoW! Looks like they're not slacking on the at-sea activities! Don't even wanna think about the disembarkation procedures yet! By this time tomorrow I plan on sampling the early boarder lunch buffet!:D

Enjoy the rest of your cruise!!

Thanks again!

Those pics & your report are making me nervous about our sailing tomorrow. I've been nervous all along but now it's so real & it's likely we'll have rough waters, too! We've never cruised before so I was hoping for the experience like you had on your way TO Bermuda.

Thanks for all of this reporting, though. It came at a perfect time for me! Tomorrow at this time .... ahhhhhh!!!

Hey Radio,

Thanks for the great reports, photos and information. We are sailing out tomorrow. A couple of questions for you: Do you know what is the earliest time they let you onboard? Can you go for lunch in the dining room? I know they try to shuttle you to the cafe, but I heard you can go to the dining room..is that true? When getting your tag for disembarking can you pick the time you want to leave? We are driving from/to Harrisburg, PA and would just as soon relax on board with breakfast and take the latest time off. Lastly, if you noticed, how strict was the screening for bringing alcohol onboard? Thanks a bunch. Enjoy the last day!

Radio, you must be a very special person to take so much of your precious cruise time to share your trip with us. Thank you so much for the fantastic pictures and the information about NCL. I'm feeling better about deserting Grandeur for Majesty next year.

Did they check your carry on bags for liquor? I have heard there is a better chance of succeeding when the liquor comes on in the carry on bag.

This is the first Debarkation of passengers at Cruise Maryland . . .

Hopefully it will go smooth.

They checked all carry on Bags. . .

There were a lot of people who had to go down an open their luggage. They use a X-ray machine to check all bags. . . (even check in bags)

I am sure some got away with it, but there were 50-60 bags that were caught.

Don’t worry about the rough water . . . The Captain of the Majesty sails across the Gulf Stream every week. . . This ship can handle it.

Going to Bermuda, we had smooth sailing. . .coming back it was only roughest for about 4 hours. (10-2PM)

You will have a great cruise !

Honestly Radio, the photos you picked to post here on CC are fabalous - they really showed how bloody good the cruises to Bermuda are !!! :D :D

Although we live here in Bermuda DH and I are tempted to fly to the States to go on a little cruise to Bermuda and back and this Majesty seems so appealing to me - the ship looks so well maintained and clean and SHARP!!

Love ya Radio!

Hello everyone ! We are still sailing East at 17 knots. The seas are very calm now. We are about 25 nm from the pilot station, and a little over 30 nm from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.

We saw the Norwegian Spirit heading North up to NYC, about 2 hours ago. She was about 2 miles east of Majesty.

The Crew Show was very good, and I highly recommend it !

There are a few small acts from crew members. . . the best is at the end !

Very funny. . .

I will try to log in again when we get closer to Norfolk. . .
