poolgal Posted October 28, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2004 Does anyone know if either of these places have good snorkeling? Thx, PG
SevenVII Posted October 28, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 28, 2004 Tom, from Paradise Beach, always said that they didnt have the best snorkeling. Its more of a laid back, enjoy the beach type of event. You can snorkel there, but you wont see anything too exciting. Havent heard about passion island, but if you goto the Cozumel Ports of Call threads there is lots of info... Try using Search as well, great tools! crzndeb Posted October 28, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 28, 2004 Agree w/ Seven....a ton of info on the Ports of Call thread.
cmez Posted October 28, 2004 #4 Share Posted October 28, 2004 I asked the same thing on the Cozumel Ports of Call board, and decided on Paradise Beach.
poolgal Posted October 28, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted October 28, 2004 I ck'd the other boards before I posted this thread. Its hard to get a straight answer to this one. Much discussion is available on both but snorkeling is only touched on the subject. Personnally, I'd spend the whole day happily at Passion Island but me thinks hubby would get cranky! BrendaB1 Posted October 29, 2004 #6 Share Posted October 29, 2004 Not sure about snorkeling but have been to both locations & just returned from Paradise Beach. My favorite place so far. Tom & staff at Paradise are GREAT. We had a blast.
cruising3times Posted October 29, 2004 #7 Share Posted October 29, 2004 we went to Passion Island twice, it is a beautiful beach, relaxing, uncrowded but I did not see anyone snorkeling there.
poolgal Posted October 29, 2004 Author #8 Share Posted October 29, 2004 I have found plenty of pic's of Passion however when you go to webshots and type in paradise beach............well all I can say is there must be plenty of beaches on the planet with that name. Can anyone direct me to where I could find pic's of this one?
crzndeb Posted October 29, 2004 #9 Share Posted October 29, 2004 http://www.paradise-beach-cozumel.net/home_pbeach.php Hope this helps and from the posts on the ports thread, it sounds like Dzul Ha is the spot for snorkeling.

Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted October 29, 2004 #11 Share Posted October 29, 2004 You may want to visit Chen Rio (marginal snorkeling sights.. some colorful fish)... but this is NOT your typical tourist spot... we have been 3-4 times, and there have never been more than a couple of groups of people there... more a TRUE COZUMEL... beautiful surf.... mostly visited by people staying on the island.. we have never seen others there from the ship.. just a thought! txadmin2 Posted October 29, 2004 #12 Share Posted October 29, 2004 We've been to both and neither have good snorkeling. Both have beautiful beaches. For great snorkeling our choice is Playa Corona. They also have wonderful margaritas. Judy
Lou33 Posted October 29, 2004 #13 Share Posted October 29, 2004 Beautiful sandy beaches and good snorkeling do not mix. The fish like rocky areas. For good snorkeling, try Dzul-Ha or Corona beach.
