SUNNY D Posted September 24, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2008 I'm so excited. The best cabin we have ever been in was a regular balcony which we loved. This time, my 2 friends and I booked an oceanview with an upper bunk. I was kinda worried about the lack of space and knew we would miss the balcony but for the price, it couldn't be beat....Till now, Carnival just called and bumped us to a penthouse suite for an extra $100. Now we have space and a balcony! Hooray. :)
pungo3 Posted September 24, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 24, 2008 That's great. I've never gotten an up-sell call but wish I would. Sounds like you got a really good deal.
travelntreats Posted September 24, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 24, 2008 OMG... that is GREAT for you and at minimal costs... the room is HUGE and that balcony to boot !!! Have a GREAT CRUISE and tell the upgrade fairy I said "I miss her" !
SUNNY D Posted September 24, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted September 24, 2008 Thanks. We are sooo excited! Are there any perks we should know about besides VIP check in? What about tipping? Do you tip more for room service than you would in other cabins? Sorry if that's a stupid question. We haven't had the "honor" of sailing in a Cat 12 so not sure what differences there are besides the obvious cabin layout. :)

pungo3 Posted September 24, 2008 #6 Share Posted September 24, 2008 I 'think' you get free laundry service but I'm not totally sure. You definitely don't tip more than what you tip in a regular room!! I know you'll have a terrific time and I'm so happy for you!:D

We haven't had the "honor" of sailing in a Cat 12 so not sure what differences there are besides the obvious cabin layout. :) Tipping is the same as regular cabins. You will love this category. We had it on the Ecstacy and loved it. So much room with a huge sofa sitting area and a spa tub! It was great. Have a great time.:D

bobsfamily Posted September 25, 2008 #15 Share Posted September 25, 2008 You will get vip boarding... and a balcony. On Sensation suites are the only ones with balconies. We had one on Sensation when it was going out of Tampa and loved it. A bit different from the newer ships.
