chivas1 Posted September 29, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 29, 2008 On previous cruises with X, sometimes the dining room was very cold, to the point it became unpleasant for the ladies in their gala dresses. Does anyone know how this is on Emerald? thanks
Druke I Posted September 29, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 29, 2008 We have not been on Emerald Princess, however, both my wife and I find that dining rooms and main show lounges on ships are often cooler than we like. I always pack a cardigan sweater or two, and my wife takes a "pashima".
Ethel5 Posted September 29, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 29, 2008 This is another one of those subjective questions......I find that the dining rooms are too warm for me.
SFParrtHd Posted September 29, 2008 #4 Share Posted September 29, 2008 I used to get cold.........now I get hot, go figure :D If you are worried, like Druke said, bring a light sweater or wrap.
paul929207 Posted September 29, 2008 #5 Share Posted September 29, 2008 My wife always carries a sweater or a shawl when she is in the public rooms on the ship. They are usually cool for her.
Tennessee88 Posted September 29, 2008 #6 Share Posted September 29, 2008 Im always cold in the dinning room so i birng a sweater and just carry it untill we get in the dinning room as to not cover up my pretty dresses :)
pungo3 Posted September 29, 2008 #7 Share Posted September 29, 2008 I think this really depends on the individual. I've never been too cool in any of the public rooms on a Princess ship. But, if you are prone to be cool, definitely carry a wrap or sweater. I hope you have a fabulous cruise.
Woodmnky Posted September 29, 2008 #8 Share Posted September 29, 2008 I'm not generally cold, but froze in several of the public rooms onboard the Grand. I plan to bring a sweater or wrap for our trip on Emerald.
kruzkid Posted September 29, 2008 #9 Share Posted September 29, 2008 In genral, most ships are colder than they are warm.
Sandytoes Posted September 30, 2008 #10 Share Posted September 30, 2008 I think the temperature is just right. Very comfortable. No need to carry a sweater or light jacket around.
Luxuriate Posted September 30, 2008 #11 Share Posted September 30, 2008 Gulp. Never a problem for me. Of course, I probably have a little extra "fluff" on my body to keep me warm ;) . Cheryl
Mini_Moose Posted October 5, 2008 #12 Share Posted October 5, 2008 Good question! Will make sure I pack a shawl. ;)
Solara Posted October 5, 2008 #13 Share Posted October 5, 2008 You never know on the temperature. You can bring a shawl or just drink an extra glass of wine!:D
tvaud Posted October 5, 2008 #14 Share Posted October 5, 2008 You never know on the temperature. You can bring a shawl or just drink an extra glass of wine!:D I like the way you think!;) Seriously though, I pack a pashmina for every cruise, but I have yet to use one. The ship is usually too warm for me.
rcacace Posted October 5, 2008 #15 Share Posted October 5, 2008 It's usually just about right for me but my wife is always aware of cool drafts & always carries along a jacket of some type especially in the show lounge. On formal evenings in the dr she always wears my jacket since I hate to eat dinner wearing it.
teripp Posted October 5, 2008 #16 Share Posted October 5, 2008 For me too cold in all public indoor areas. (Even my cabin as my travel buddy is always hot and I am always cold)always a sweater for the dining room and a parka for the bedroom :) Her bed only has a sheet my bed has as many blankest as I can get my hands on.... :) So personal choice on this question. But I would bring a sweater just in case.
DonnaK Posted October 5, 2008 #17 Share Posted October 5, 2008 On our last couple of cruises, we've found ships to be on the warm side. I think that in recent years, many ships have raised their thermostats a degree or two, as an energy conserving measure.
