boarding the ship?

Sailing on AOS 1/4/09. anyone know how early you can board the ship? Arriving one day early and we are going to do some sight seeing and such but, once we check out of the hotel. It would kind of suck dragging all our luggage around trying to see things. Any suggestions?

Another option is storing your luggage at the Barrachina Resturant , no fee, but they expect a tip!

I am assuming your cruise leaves from the Pan Am pier in the late evening hour, you will have to take a taxi from the airport to the Barrachina Resturant, and then when done doing your sightseeing, either take a taxi to the pier or the ferry.

Here is some info on luggage storage in San Juan.

Not to sound like a cheapskate...but the food is "complimentary", since the ship doesn't actually depart until 5:00?

What does the sailing time have to do with food?

Boarding day is day 1, and the windjammer is open for free, or included, whichever way you want to look at it, food, the same as it is on the other 6 days of the cruise.

Day 1 you miss breakfast as you aren't allowed to board that early, Day 8, you have breakfast and then get off the ship.

7 Full days and 7 full days food service

Boarding day counts as the 1st day of the cruise you've paid for. You should make the most of it, and get on the ship and start using the facilities! If you wait until departure time, you wasted 1/2 a day of that which you've paid for! (The last morning doesn't count--they will rush you off the ship ASAP!)
