Jemima Posted December 28, 2008 #26 Share Posted December 28, 2008 Excessive drinking is different than excessive bingo. We just don't go to bingo or art auctions. Bingo and art auction attendees don't detract from our cruise, but drunken pub crawlers would. (Now if the pub crawl included an "art" overboard contest. Or, since nothing is to be thrown overboard, if the crawl was through the "art"...)

A few jovial ones, not at all, but what was described by the OP certainly would.
jimgev Posted December 28, 2008 #28 Share Posted December 28, 2008 There was a pub crawl on our Oosterdam cruise last month. We did not participate.
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 28, 2008 #29 Share Posted December 28, 2008 Good call! I'm not a fan of bingo, so I'll be sure to cancel my 3 upcoming cruises right now... AHHHHHHHH - aren't you going to have to cancel all 6 cruises since all the cruise lines have Bingo? ;) :D

MadManOfBethesda Posted December 28, 2008 #32 Share Posted December 28, 2008 Good call! I'm not a fan of bingo, so I'll be sure to cancel my 3 upcoming cruises right now... LOL! :D Yeah, God forbid that people actually have some fun in a bar on a HAL cruise. Just what is the world coming to! Even the OP mentioned that the atmosphere was energized for a change.
InTheWASide Posted December 28, 2008 #33 Share Posted December 28, 2008 And the Nieuw A is theoretical since I don't know the dates of anything yet. Assuming there will be an inaugural season transatlantic though and that's one that I'm looking at :)
maxsmamma Posted December 28, 2008 #34 Share Posted December 28, 2008 I agree if a guest embarasses themselves shame on them, but hey that's them. My issue was more with the fact that it was HAL staff who selected that gem of a toast as the winning toast representing our Pub Crawl. Why encourage it? I agree with you. Not my cup of tea, much more carnival than HAL
