Just home and wanted to let everyone know what a wonderful time we had. We had about 25 cruise critic members for our meet and greet party!! Most of us did Sunset Beach in Mobay then Margaritaville..The web site for Sunset does not do it justice! It is wonderful and for 20 bucks..all you can eat and drink! Then we had a group of 24 for Sotos in GC, then Paradise Beach, Parasailing, Carlos and Charlies in Cozumel. The Conquest was a party animal this past week!

I have loads of dirty clothes calling my name but will post a long review ASAP.

This was my 2nd Conquest cruise and won't be my last!!

Thanks for the info. We leave next week and can't wait. I am on line now ready to watch it leave the terminal. Glad to hear that ya'll had a great cruise. This will be our second time on the Conquest. On the first one in February we were not able to go to Jamaica or Grand Cayman. We plan to go to Sunset Beach, too. My family wants to snorkel in Grand Cayman. Hope you saved some of the ice cream in the ice cream machine for me. I was addicted to it last time.

Well, I must say, this was the best cruise ever!

We arrived in NO about 1030AM, promptly got lost trying to find machupicchu tours garage but finally stumbled upon it! Right on Jackson Street behind the Wal-Mart. $74.00 dollars to park for the week in an enclosed, locked garage and they provide transportation to and from the ship, great deal!. While waiting to load the bus, a caravan of vehicles arrive with Texas tags and who is peeping out the window but Ekelley herself ..(she looks just like her photos!) So the bus loaded up with a load of cruise critic members and we had an early meet and greet party on the bus!

Bus dropped us off right at the doorstep, wandered in and was in line less than 5 minutes before moving to the next set of yellow chairs…painless! Boarded the Conquest by 1230 and headed to the Lido deck for burgers and foo foo drinks!

I think I was pretty foo fooed up by the life boat drill because I was speaking in my drunk whisper voice by then. Set sail a little after 6PM and our group was still partying on down.

Most of us were on the Panorama deck, inside cabins. We used dry eraser boards to let the others in our group know where to start looking for us and we managed to cruise/party in packs that way.

We didn’t make it to dinner as DH was snoring his foo foo drinks off by 8 PM. I got my second wind about 1030 and headed to the Lido deck. CAUTION!! That deck is slick as ice when wet. I busted my butt and put a big ole knot on my hard head..Ouch!

Went and got DH up and off to Henri’s disco we went!

We had our meet and greet official party at 1PM Monday by the Sky Pool/Bar with about 25 persons present! (Hello Ekelleys group, zydecocruiser, BAB15316, LoriAnnP group, IzzyBee group)

We also met up with Rdytocruise in GC as most of us from the CC board reserved Sotos together.

We enjoyed the zydeco dancers as they were so wonderful/fun to watch. They had dances through out the week and we went to watch most of them. They sure have a lot of energy!

Thanks Bill, zydecocruiser, for introducing us to this type of dancing!

I am not a food critic and ate mostly burgers and pizza (yummy!) Our group enjoyed the food in the dining room at night. I ordered 2 entrees each night and found everything pretty good.

More later!!

We will be in inside cabins on the Panorama Deck (1044 and 1048). Our travel agent booked my husband and daughter (22 years old) together and my son (20 yrs old) and I in another room. She claims that they had to be 25 years old to have a room alone. Hopefully, we can switch them when we get there.

Isabel,

I got the picture you e-mailed me & the pictures Bill took in Grand Cayman. He took some great picture. I got some pretty good picture at Carlos & Charlies & I will e-mail them to you later tonight. Remember what happens in Cozumel stays in Cozumel. We are ready to go on another cruise with y'all but it will have to be sometime in late 2005 or 2006. We had such a great time with you, Larry, Dorrine, Connie & Beth. Y'all are one crazy & fun bunch.

Just tag your bags to go to the cabins you want them in. I booked a cruise on the Conquest and the PVP booked my kids in a gtd cabin from the beginning. When I got my docs they were in the cabin across the hall from my DH and I.

Ekelley! Howdy!! we were just talking about you! Larry said he wished we could have hung with ya'll more. We sure had fun. Good thing the jean police missed us, isn't it??

Hey, don't sell those Carlos and Charlies photos, ok!

If someone sends me the Carlos and Charlie's photos, I will post - no problemo.

Next Zydecocruise is on Norwegian - got mixed feelings about that. The jean police will be out in force and it is a lot harder to get away with smuggling booze on board. But the ports of call will be different. They are also trying something new - instead of having two Zydeco bands they are going to have one Zydeco and one Cajun (both of the bands are great).

Thanks for letting me hook up with ya'll for Soto's. I read they are raising prices and shortening the tour starting next year. But they will start taking credit cards!

Bill, I have done those ports of call, but on the Norwegian Nightmare. I sure you zydeco dancers will lively up the NCL Sun! I am looking at booking the Sensation, sometime in November 2005...I really don't like a 5 day cruise but we absolutely love Cozumel and Playa Del and the Sensation docks 12 hours at each, plus we are thinking about trying to get all our kids, their spouses, etc to go (whew, what a crazy group, just like their mom!)...so it seems this is the next cruise for us! I hope we get meet up with you and the zydeco cruisers again. Maybe 2006!! Meanwhile, may the force of ditzy izzy be with you!

Roatan is the only port I haven't been to, but might get there on an Easter and/or July 4th cruise. Maybe Labor Day? Still trying to get my vacations in order for next year.

I used to like to go on the Holiday 5 day cruises, but the SINsation doesn't have the selection of 1A cabins that the Holiday does. Sooner of later I will no doubt try it.

On NCL, if they don't like jeans for dinner, I guess I'll have to decide between wearing a kilt or a bedsheet.

You all may laugh but one time on the Inspiration there was a LARGE group of young adults with their chaparones (about 100) who used the bedsheets to dress up in togas one formal night.

You should have seen the look on the Cabin Stewards faces when they came out of their cabins. I know they were thinking - "Oh my gosh - I just made those beds"!

Nope, won't laugh.

Sheets and perhaps lampshades are costume de rigeur at least once on this cruise:

Ahem...

No self respecting Parrothead would wear a mere sheet to the famous Toga party! Tropical prints, floral patterns and authentic toga designs are accented by coconut bras, grass skirts, mardi gras beads, silly hats and blinking and flashing adornments. Anything worth doing is worth overdoing!

Loved the pictures!!! The DH is a big Zydeco fan. When will you have a group of Zydeco folk together on Carnival again?

Thank you !!!

I'm just a satisfied paying passenger (a ZydecoCruiseR not the ZydecoCruise (I think a TM) that has been on 4 consecutive zydeco cruises and signed up for a 5th. Sorry, can't answer your question. Think the one who will decide is still recovering from the last cruise and/or planning next year's cruise on NCL. I have no clue what her new contract with NCL is. It would not hurt to send her an email asking your question/indicating your interest, however. After every cruise they do want participants to fill out an evaluation form.

I really can't praise or bash NCL because I haven't had any experience with them.

Carol's sig line from an email - you can add 2004 and I would think more.:

I would not expect the 2006 cruiseline to be disclosed until late October 2005 at the earliest, but if I am wrong, it would not be the first time.

The first cruises were on Commodore (Enchanted Isle) that went belly - NOT HULL - up, then they switched to Carnival. Going to another line is a first for me and I guess a second for them.

Happy Turkey Day, ya'll!
