No reports needed, read the boards, it is that obvious

Golly where did you go to school? How can you say 2 out of all the responses means most are leaving?? have said they would leave NCL, one has always voiced his negative feelings, a few have said they will continue to look at other options based on price, most have said they will stay with NCL or certainly continue to sail NCL as well as other lines..

LOL Good one Nita. Guess he thinks we can't read the responses and see that a very small percentage are leaving. :D

It was great while it lasted. In the last few years, we have gotten $2000 off of our cruises. Too bad it will now be gone. We will still cruise NCL. It definately is our favorite line. Freestyle is wonderful and the cruise prices are ok also.

Exactly. We feel the same way. Freestyle wins every time.

As for the demise of Compass Rewards...yes, it was a great deal, but no one else offers anything like it, either. I suspect some here will cut off their nose to spite their face and stop cruising NCL because of the change, but it's their loss. They'll come to understand this when they start stuffing tuxes and ballgowns into their one--if that--allowed free suitcase.;)

Never had compass records credit card, don't gamble so no bennies from CAS so that's not an issue for us. We've cruised NCL for over 20 years (long before freestyle) and it's our cruiseline of preference. We've tried RCCL a few times, HAL 2x (S suites) and yet we always come back to NCL. Nothing beats their suite perks and freestyle suits us perfectly.

We're not going anywhere else anytime soon:D. NCL works for us.

At this point in the posting only 3 pax said they would stay with ncl without any other contibuting factors, the others have said they will stay because of the casino program discounts helping make that decesion. Where did you go to school? I can count and these are the post numbers that gave ncl a positve #6,10,18

There is no reason for anyone to pay attention to nonsense like this.

Its not nonsense, its facts. You will see a big drop in their numbers, with that said I am done here, will not argue simple points that are obvious, I give it to you ncl loyalists, you will back them no matter what case may be, there seems to be some pax that will somehow justify any wrong doing ncl does

We'll cruise less since we won't be getting the savings benefit. But we are fans of freestyle so when we book we'll probably be looking at NCL first and other lines will have to offer us something to get us to book with them (better price, itinerary or something like that)

Ladder obviously is trying to see if he/she can stir up another heated discussion. I would say, only a few have said they intend on leaving NCL, those are passengers who sail NCL because of the BOA only. Most others have said, they may look around more, which I think is understandable, but not leave altogether..

I always tell myself I won't feed these guys and yet, I come on and continue responding, the best thing we can do is let these threads die..but we don't always do the best thing, right?

Nita

Exactly what the poster is trying to do. Lets all just leave the poster alone and not contribute. Someone leaving NCL just because BoA benefits are over has no meaning anyway, really. Evidentially they were sailing NCL because with the certs it was the best deal for them. If they find NCL has the best deal for them on the next cruise they look up, then they will be back, if that is what really matters to them. I don't care how little the cruise cost me, if I did not like the cruise or cruiseline no matter what I paid would be a waste of money anyway. Anyone who says they won't ever sail NCL again because BoA benefits are no longer there must have some other reason other than BoA for not sailing with NCL.

nope, most all said they still prefer NCL, of course most of us compare prices, etc, that should be the case. You dont like NCL, that is your choice, but if you think doing away with BOA is really going to hurt NCL keep dreaming...

As I mentioned, we shop around, our first choice is NCL, but we sail other lines as well. I really hope you enjoy whatever line you choose, I also hate to admit, I fell into the trap of wasting my time on this thread. I sensed as soon as your original post you were up to trying start a debate..Stupid me, this time..

your assumption on this thread is wrong, pax are really upset with what has happened with compass rewards and even more the problems with wrong certificates being issued and so on. pax are frustrated with ncl which will lead them to another line, my intention was to see how many pax indeed feel this way, no more no less.

now that ncl loyal's will not be getting as many free cruises from use of their BOA cards, it will be interesting to see how many stay now that it won't be free. I have been reading these boards and have realized how many people only cruised with ncl because of the free BOA rewards.

I got the Compass Rewards card after Carnival ended their card with similar rewards. The Compass Rewards program is what prompted me to take my first NCL cruise. I found that cruise to be a good value for what I paid. I couldn't say the same if I had not had the discount. I can take or leave Freestyle, so I'm going to use my Compass Rewards certificate to book one last NCL cruise, then I will primarily stick to my preferred lines. I won't say I'll never cruise NCL again, but there would have to be a considerable price difference from my preferred lines to entice me back.

I didn't feel any animosity toward Carnival or their provider for ending their program, and I don't feel any toward NCL or BOA for ending theirs. Frankly, I'm shocked they kept it as long as they did. I am delighted I was able to save as much as I did. I'm sorry to see it come to an end, but I don't begrudge their business decision.

We have taken an NCL cruise almost every year for the last 10 years mainly due to the BoA discount. Love free style. I would never say we would never take another NCL cruise but there are other things to do & see other than cruises. It's time for me to look else where for places to spend my vacation $.

I don't get it. They ended a program that was too good to be true and people are going to walk away from NCL. Those that only cruised on NCL when it was all but free maybe that was a reason to end the program.

As we look for another option it becomes even more clear how good the program was. Anyone look at the cards the other cruise lines have been offering for years. No better then World Points.

My position is we should be thanking NCL for a great run with the best travel credit card program ever offered. Many of us getting $1000s of free cruise value that no other card offered.

That said I have no use of BOA and will move on from them but will return to NCL.

Thanks NCL for all those $500 certificates that no other cruise line ever gave anyone.

I don't have credit cards, I don't book through CAS, I discovered the military discount after my third cruise. I sailed before I knew about the great militray discount and would still sail if it went away. I love Freestyle and NCL works well for me. I have had great service and met some very friendly crew members.

Hi, I really like NCL, but can only compare it to a single cruise that I took on Celebrity which was also great. I would see deals on other cruise lines that I wanted, but Compass Rewards kept me in line, and I wouldn't buy even a Snickers bar without that credit card. So I got $3k out of the deal and really, really enjoyed my cruises. Now that it is over, I will continue to cruise NCL, but now I will feel free to sometimes stray when I find good deals at other cruise lines. Yes, I will continue to cruise NCL.

You really are allowed to have 3 desserts.

Smooth sailing, Howard
humm, there's 2 more
Updated count from this thread:

19 will def cruise NCL in the future
5 will not cruise NCL in the future
2 will consider sailing again with NCL if their price beats other cruise lines.

So, your original point about many people leaving NCL since Compass Rewards is over has been proven false. Sorry bout that...nice try though.

I may leave BofA but will not leave NCL. As I said in my previous post, I love Freestyle and will continue to cruise NCL. I will look at other lines if the intinery and price is right but I did that when I was getting compass rewards. Based on my last NCL cruise, I thought service was even better than the previous cruise. I do understand the business reason for doing away with the rewards. I work for a bank and we are having to do things I never thought we would to save money. While I will miss the free cruises I have taken, I will still use NCL.
