nope, most all said they still prefer NCL, of course most of us compare prices, etc, that should be the case. You dont like NCL, that is your choice, but if you think doing away with BOA is really going to hurt NCL keep dreaming...

As I mentioned, we shop around, our first choice is NCL, but we sail other lines as well. I really hope you enjoy whatever line you choose, I also hate to admit, I fell into the trap of wasting my time on this thread. I sensed as soon as your original post you were up to trying start a debate..Stupid me, this time..

I have no interest in hurting NCL, I think that healthy competitive cruise lines help keep prices in check. And, every line has their nitch market, its just that for NCL, I'm not in it, and I'm not quite sure who is. Everybody makes the big deal about Freestyle - now that there are no free specialty restaurants, what is the advantage over the similar product now offered by both Princess and Royal? In my experience, they both do a better job than NCL in that I never had to wait for a table on either.
The simple truth is that my DW and I greatly enjoy cruises on NCL when they are almost free. However, at full price we find NCL to be an inferior product, in many ways (which I listed a few on my last post), to some of the other mainstream lines.

I didn't mean it the way it came out, No, I don't think you are out to hurt NCL. I think you have every right to choose what line you cruise and you were only pointing out why you prefer another line. My remarks were more on a general basis, not meant at you directly. I guess I should have said, anyone who thinks this will hurt NCL in the long run is probably all wet. It will affect a few, of course, that it easy to see, but overall, when this dies down it will be a moot point. As we can see, very few choose a line simply because of a credit card of CAS perks or anything else. Again, this was not meant as a blast to you or your choice.

I may not agree with you, as we have had better experiences overall with NCL than the two lines you like, but like so many things, cruising is subjective, not just the food, but the oveall experience..
my intention was to see how many pax indeed feel this way, no more no less.
I will let this die, I proved my point
So were you just trying to find out how people feel or did you have a point?
I think most of us know what you were doing ;) (and it was weak)

We enjoy NCL. We also like Princess and RC a little more than NCL. But the rewards program made NCL a much better deal so we have cruised NCL alot in the past 5 years. Now that the price incentive is not weighted heavily toward NCL, I will cruise the other rlines more. But will certainly consider NCL if there is a particular ship/itinerary I like.

DH who was very underwhelmed by our last NCL cruise, and was wowed by our most recent RC cruise, does not want to cruise NCL anymore now that the rewards are changed.
At this point in the posting only 3 pax said they would stay with ncl without any other contibuting factors, the others have said they will stay because of the casino program discounts helping make that decesion. Where did you go to school? I can count and these are the post numbers that gave ncl a positve #6,10,18
Read in to it what you like. Still doesn't change the ACTUAL statistics. We're staying with NCL....Now make sure you count us FOR NCL!!!!!
No,some of the 19 has conditions with them, sorry but this is a fact, I know you do not want to agree
I will let this die, I proved my point
of course they have conditions, same as most lines. Very few people cruise only one line. That would almost be blind loyalty. Actually some do only cruise one line but they are usually new cruisers who have only cruised 3 or 4 times and haven't tried another line. You can say all you want, you can choose to cruise any line you want, but this is an argument you started just to see if you could cause a ruckess (spelling) you succeeded now you may want to drop it. I know I am going to...

We cruised NCL before Compass Rewards and during the program. The discontinuation of Compass Rewards will not cause us to move cruise lines. We're staying with NCL because of value and service. Rah, rah NCL.

We will however, be looking for another credit card program.

It sure does. Many will get on any ship on any line if it is cheap enough. Some will pay a fair price to cruise on the ships and lines that really fit their needs.

I will be looking at other cruise lines and will cruise NCL only if they have a cruise at a price I am interested in. I loved the BOA program and was sad to see it go away.

I do appreciate the program as it introduced me to the sweetness of the full suite. No matter if I get 'points' or not, I am addicted to the bigger and better room and the perks that go with it.

Ps cruiser has been a member since 2004 with many cruises under his belt, I wouldn't call him a troll, but I would say he has experience and knows what he is talking about, yet another example of how someone gets flammed here on the ncl boards if they disagree

DW and I booked in the past based on mostly itinerary, then price. We had done RCCLX3, PrincessX1, and CCLX1. Then in November of 2007 we cruised the Star based on itinerary and price (8 night LA to Acapulco (still disappointed they dumped the itinerary)). Well, we fell in love with freestyle and the wonderful crew. So, this past January we were on the Dawn, another great trip and crew. We are booked on the Spirit January 2010. NCL appears to be our line of choice. Does that mean we'll never cruise another line, absolutely not, but NCL has won our first choice position.

Ya gotta love it here on the boards.

PSCruiser, a cruiser with 13 cruisers under the belt, well over 1,700 posts here on C/C, scheduled for 4 more (including 2 on NCL) posts the above and is labeled a Troll. The only reason I can surmise is that (s)he had the termerity to call NCL an inferior product.

I happen to agree with PSCruiser and I can assure that I am definitely not a Troll.

I agree, I pointed this out above, its really sad how some of these people on these ncl threads be little others because of their choice and opinion, I haven not seen this on the other threads to this extent.
Thanks NCL for all those $500 certificates that no other cruise line ever gave anyone.
I, too, thank NCL for all the $500 certificates I received. However, it is NOT correct that no other cruise line ever gave them. I can tell you for a fact that Carnival's original credit card offered $500 certificates that were earned at the same rate, 3% of purchases & 4% of Carnival purchases. How do I know? I had the card and I earned and used the certificates. Then Carnival changed their program to the current SeaMiles card which is when I closed that card and got the NCL card. The only reason I got NCL's card was because the rewards were as good as Carnival's old one. Now the NCL card is changing, so I'm closing that card. It was great while it lasted!
