JFK to port

I am flying into New York from Charlotte going on Norweigan Dawn in October. Which airport is closest JFK or LaGuardia? Any special secrets to getting to the port?

I think technically LGA is the closer of the two.

 

I'd personally fly into whichever airport had the better flight availability & times. We've always flown into JFK and have been really happy with that choice. It's a flat-fee of $45 from JFK to any destination in Manhattan in a taxi.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on easiest way to get to the port in NYC? We will be arriving around 9 AM on Sunday morning?

We've not been there, done that yet, but we're going this

fall, too :cool:.

Easiest transfer we've ever had was using the cruiseline's transfer program.

We're getting into New York a day or so early so will be taking a taxi to the port.

Don't forget to check the port of call board for other ideas.

LGA to the port on a Sunday morning should be pretty calm. No one's working and traffic should be light; especially when u mentioned u arr around 0930. The taxi time should be 20 minutes; I do not know the cost, but like JFK, it should be a flat fee.

LGA is a bit easier to navigate in my opinion and closer.

 

I am not sure what airline you are using.

 

From LGA into Manhattan is around 30.00.

We will be flying into LGA on a sunday morning to catch the NCL Dawn. Only problem is it is Nov. 1, which is the NYC Marathon. Anyone know if this will disrupt the traffic flow from LGA to Manhatten terminal? We would be arriving at 8:30 AM, then have to retrieve our luggage, and then grab a taxi to the port. TIA!

The marathon course will include the Queensboro bridge, the usual route from LGA to Manhatten. Your taxi can use the alternate route through the Midtown Tunnel. Good planning to know about the marathon on the day of your flight!
