Secret door?

Is there a "secret door" that leads out to a private balcony on the Carnival Spirit, Verandah deck? If not, what is that area on the deck plans? All it shows is white. Cabins 7101 and 7102 are supposed to be inside cabins on this ship, but look more like oceanview.

Well, there are actually 3 doors (at least) to this area. It's not secret, just not often visited. It's above and on level below bridge.

Just walk to front of ship via long hallways on either side of ship (except on bridge level-Verandah deck I think). There will be doors at end of hallway. It is generally windy out there.

Whomever started calling this a secret has done everyone a dis-service as it's not at all.

Basically what's meant is doors leading to these small forward-facing decks shown below.

This shot shows Carnival Victory

but they're all pretty much the same thing, design-wise.

Consult your deck plans and you'll find there are exterior access doors right up front on Decks 6 and 7 (8 is usually the bridge?)

and then on Decks 9 and 10, above the bridge.

The fwd. exterior deck on 9 (for this ship at least) is effectively on the roof of the bridge

so no stomping around up there

or the Captain will have you brought down in chains

and drawn and quartered....keel-hauled at the very least

and with a LOA of 893 ft.

that's rather a long way to have to hold yer breath, buddy!

The Spirit class ships (Spirit, Pride, Legend, Miracle) do not have forward observation decks below the Lido deck so no secret doors, sorry. :(

The area in "white" forward on Verandah deck is the bridge and officers cabins.

True, however there is a public observation area forward that can be accessed by going all the way forward on the Lido deck.

Thanks for all the info! If we book an inside cabin, should we go for 7101 or 7102 as they appear to be quite larger than other inside cabins. Has anyone ever stayed in either?
