welwyngirl Posted April 29, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2009 Hi I wondered if anyone could advise what type of hairdryers are in the cabins on Solstice. If they are fairly powerful that's OK but the types they put in the bathrooms just aren't powerful enough for my very thick hair!! I don't want to have to pack one unless absolutely necessary! Thanks!
nps001 Posted April 29, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2009 We had a hand held blow dryer in our cabin.
blizz_27 Posted April 29, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 29, 2009 Yes, they are the regular hand-held ones you see on most ships. However, I thought they worked BETTER than most cruise ship hairdryers Ive used. I normally find them weak ... and my arm gets sore just from tryin to dry my head full of hair!! Maybe the dryers are still new ... lol.. thats why they work well!!
welwyngirl Posted April 29, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted April 29, 2009 Thanks for both responses. One less thing to pack, then! Room for one more pair of shoes, now!!
Mysticks1 Posted April 29, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 29, 2009 Can anyone reply as to whether the switch stays on or if it is one that you have to hold the button down? I need to know if I need to add large rubber bands to my packing list. :) They work well and help keep your hand from getting so tired.
Peteymil Posted April 29, 2009 #6 Share Posted April 29, 2009 You have to hold it down.
Mysticks1 Posted April 29, 2009 #7 Share Posted April 29, 2009 You have to hold it down. Thanks - that's what I suspected.
firemanbobswife Posted April 30, 2009 #8 Share Posted April 30, 2009 They are the compact ones, but I too have very thick hair and I found that it worked quickly to dry my hair. The only thing I didn't like was having to hold the switch on. But it beats having to pack one.
irishgirl Posted April 30, 2009 #9 Share Posted April 30, 2009 They are 1200 watt dryers. The switch is quite easy to hold down, I didn't have any problem. Judy
Tweets Posted April 30, 2009 #10 Share Posted April 30, 2009 Are they regular dryers or the ones attached to the wall? Also, I'm in a regular cabin (not aqua spa or concierge), will I also have a dryer. With the packing limits so low I would like to pack as little as possible! Thanks for any info you have. irishgirl Posted April 30, 2009 #11 Share Posted April 30, 2009 The dryer is in the drawer and you have to take it out and plug it into a special plug. So it is completely hand held. Judy
