whitenack Posted April 30, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2009 I did a search and couldn't find anything on this topic, which I thought was odd. What is on Deck 13? Or is there no deck 13?
mainelymaniacs Posted April 30, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 30, 2009 There may not be one. Just like hotels in the USA do not have a 13th floor. Lisa

whitenack Posted April 30, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted April 30, 2009 I didn't know that. The Freedom and Voyager Class ships have them.

senrab Posted April 30, 2009 #6 Share Posted April 30, 2009 Voyager and Freedom have their sports decks on deck 13. So unless you have a massively irrational fear of losing a mini-golf ball overboard, you're probably not going to care. However, the deck above deck 12 (which would be 13, but is marked 14) has cabins on it. People may be more afraid to sleep on deck 13 rather than flowrider on deck 13. whitenack Posted April 30, 2009 Author #7 Share Posted April 30, 2009 Ha. OK. I guess that makes sense. I guess they have history of vacancies on the 13th floor/deck. Interesting.
Parkay Posted April 30, 2009 #8 Share Posted April 30, 2009 I work on the 13th floor. :D If I had a dollar for every time someone has said "oh, you're on the 13th floor", in the elevator. Not bad luck to me though. I couldn't care less.
CaptData Posted May 3, 2009 #9 Share Posted May 3, 2009 It is only very recently that the 13th floor is starting to show up in buildings in USA. It was a very longstanding superstition.
RicardoC Posted May 3, 2009 #10 Share Posted May 3, 2009 Well we don't have this thing in Brazil(just some buildings go from 12th to 14th floor) and I lived in the 13th floor for 8 years in my life and here I am....hahaha....actually it's my dad's lucky number and yes he IS REALLY lucky :p BTW....all the ships I've been HAD a 13th deck(but the ones with less than 13 decks )...just the SOLSTICE did not have it which I think is weird and unecessary...its just a number....well with deck 13 or not the OASIS will still be awesome :)
flag fan Posted May 15, 2009 #11 Share Posted May 15, 2009 All those people who win free cruises on Oasis have cabins on Deck 13; the trick is they have to find their cabin. ;)
softail Posted May 16, 2009 #12 Share Posted May 16, 2009 Ships normally do not have a Deck 13!......:D Wrong every large cruise ships ive been on has had a deck 13. incl the mariner & the brilliance
DEIx15x8 Posted May 16, 2009 #13 Share Posted May 16, 2009 It's a residency thing. It's fine to have a thirteenth floor for pools, eating, or other activities but not for cabins. That is why other RCCL ships have a 13th floor while Oasis doesn't.
