WOW... thats all I can say...OH and THANK YOU... timing is everything... I woke up this morning and said to myself "myself, I hope someone posts a review of the Liberty"!! and here you are!!! And the fact that you are sooooooo good at it, well, that just makes it all the better.

I was on the Liberty but wanted a more recent review and one with the new ports. Although we are now scheduled for Roatan instead of Cozumel and it looks like you went to Belize? (I'll find out further on in your review).

The dining room you were in, center of the ship or back? We also are 6:00 seating (mainly only because of Grandma & Poppy who like/have to eat early) but I need the middle dining room, not the back... too much shaking & rattling going on back there for me...

I just know that I'll have lots of questions for you, but for now I'll just sit back and read and dream. Thank you very much for doing this for us... Oh, and thanks too for making the Capers so that old people (like me) can see them!!!

You're pictures are great too... OK, so, overall, GREAT review thus far....

They were our waiters also, and we loved them! We had late dinner, did you? The cruise withdrawal continues....don't want to work, cook, clean, laundry.......where's our ship?

Did you go to Dunn's River Falls? We went there just to check it out, but I have a fear of heights (only in some instances) and decided just to enjoy the view!

Your review/photos are fabulous!

And I almost forgot… Capers from Day 1:

Okay, so I know they're way big, but if I go with the next size down you'll need a magnifying glass to actually read them!

Next up... Day 2: Fun Day at Sea. But it will probably be tonight before I start posting those.

Sorry, it's either my eyes or my computer but I'm having trouble reading these. Can you, holly, or anyone who can read them answer just one question.

What's the time and location for meeting with the maitre'd if you need to change your dining room table????

Great to discover this thread this morning! I love a well-written review!

This might help me pass the time until my February Liberty cruise.

Thanks everyone! I'm so glad you're all reading :D.

Great Review! We were on the Liberty in 2006! Look forward to more of your review.

Thank you!

Thank you, Elaine! I'm glad this review will help to pass the time until you're on the ship.

The Golden Olympian restaurant was in the middle of the ship, and I have to tell you I was really concerned about motion sickness, but was totally fine. That being said, my parents said this was the calmest cruise they've been on with regards to the boat rocking!

And please... ask away!

Whoa... that is so cool! I have to say, I was totally taken with these two. I was just so impressed by each of them and how hard they work. That can probably be said for all the crew, but there was just something about special about them. We were actually at the early seating.

We didn't go to the falls, but I kind of wish we had. Next time!

Love it and looking forward to more....................

I must say though, I am so pumped! The Liberty has new loungers poolside. No more of those floppy, uncomfortable, usually pop you out of your position, blue and white striped jobbers! YEAH!

Chick.

Those loungers are great! My mom was raving about how nice it was to have the new ones and I couldn't appreciate her enthusiasm until we went up to some of the other decks and found those pop-a-matic ones!

I don't think that info is on the caper. However, we did talk to the maitre'd's assistant to verify our 4 top and I want to say we did that around 3 pm when we boarded the boat. Maybe someone else will be able to give you a more specific answer!

So did you get the chance to check out Larry in the Piano Bar?? And if so, how was he? I realize he most likely won't be there when I go in January, but as the piano bar is one of my favorite haunts, I'm always interested in the goings on there...

Great review, I love the style of your writing, the format and the pictures! May I make a suggestion, next time fly in the day before, alleviates the stress of worrying about missing the boat due to the unexpected flight delays, etc.

Just wanted to pop in and say how much I am enjoying your review. I love the ones that are accompanied with pictures - makes me wish that I was better at doing reviews that way on my own.

Looking forward to reading about the rest of your trip. I hope I have the pleasure of cruising with you on a future cruise :)

Amazing review! Love all the pics...I'm going on the Destiny in just under a year, but still love to read all the ship reviews I can!

I hope you don't mind me asking, but are you on the DIS? or DISboards? or listen to DIS unplugged? The "food porn" reference reminded me of Bob. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, please ignore the crazy lady! ha ha

Loved the marathon review (from your link). I had to take a long lunch oday at work to get through it, but it was worth it! Congratulations!

Keep this review coming! I am sailing the Liberty with my husband and kids in October and love to hear all about it! I'm planning a surprise to tell the kids about the trip and the Capers are coming in handy!!

Hmm... I don't want to bash the guy because I only spent about 20-30 minutes in the Piano Bar and it was fairly early in the evening (around 10:30ish). Brett and I are big fans of piano music (Ben Folds, Billy Joel, and Elton John among many others) and during the little time we spent in there we weren't all too impressed. Although, I can't even compare and contrast for you because we haven't experienced a piano bar on any other ship. So it looks like I'm not much help. I guess I can say we weren't intrigued enough to return.

Yay! It's good to "hear" that you're enjoying the review! Thank you.

Thank you so much for this review. I can't wait for more. The pictures and capers are fantastic!!!! I'll be there in August and I love having all of the details!

Thank you. And I'm glad you like the details, because I'm incapable of doing it any other way.

Thank you! And yes, I think we learned our lesson that morning... my heart starts beating fast just thinking about how stressful that situation was!

Thanks MonaCK. I'm a huge fan of picture reports, as well. You should try it. Sometimes they can be just as fun to write as they are to read!!

Oooh another disney lover?!? I can talk WDW all day. I'm green with envy that you're leaving tomorrow to board the Liberty; you are going to have so much fun!

Great review so far, we have to wait to July to be on the Liberty. Keep up with the review, photos and capers, we all appreciate it.

Thank you! July will be here before you know it :D.

Thanks... I, too, love reading all the reviews regardless of the ship.

I'm aware of the DIS boards and have lurked around there a little bit, but I actually post on a different Disney forum (wdwmagic.com), which might not be as well known. And I believe I picked up the terminology there!

What a cool surprise. I bet you'll get some super mom points for that one!!

And thanks for the congratulations... I'm honored that you read through my monster of a review. Hands down, hardest thing I've ever done!

Day 2, Sunday, May 3: Fun Day at Sea with Cruise Elegant Night and the Captains Party

So I missed my mark to get up day 2 yesterday evening. I'm going to try to get the whole thing posted tonight! It's written, now let's just see if photobucket will cooperate.

We woke up Sunday morning around 6 am according to my cell phone (little did we know, it was actually 7 am on the ship). Refreshed from such a great night’s sleep, Brett and I quickly got dressed and headed up to the jogging track for some laps. I thoroughly enjoyed this; it sure beats running at home. After our run we headed straight to breakfast where we met up with my parents. I was loving the breakfast variety, and it was all so good.

We went back to the room to clean up and Brett and I decided we might want to check out the general trivia taking place in The Cabinet on Deck 4. As we were leaving our room, we met Putu, our room steward. He was fabulous! He learned our names immediately, always had a smile on his face, and spoke to us by name every time we encountered him... in addition to, you know, going above and beyond to keep our rooms in tip top shape!! I can’t say enough good things about the man or his assistants. They work so hard.

We made it to the Cabinet just as someone was being awarded one of those ships on a stick. Turns out we’d missed the trivia altogether and were an hour late. My cell phone had automatically changed over to central standard time with the satellites and the ship hadn’t made the change. How confusing! Oh well, no trivia for us today. And here we were feeling so confident about the useless knowledge stored away in our brains, and we can't even tell time!

Trivia no longer an option we meandered around Promenade and took some pictures of the empty lounges.

With all that effort we exerted, I think a mid-morning nap on Lido was in order! So we found my parents and lounged around for most of the day, breaking for lunch before taking… you guessed it, an afternoon nap. What a tough day this was turning out to be!

Brett sacrificed some nap time to go make nice with the blackjack dealer, where he doubled his money! Woo Woo… my celebration is short lived however, because by the time we were docked in Miami again, he was in the red. But it was fun while it lasted.

We went in early to get ready for dinner because the Captain’s Party was set to start at 5:15pm and no one in their right mind is late to a party boasting free drinks!! So, who wants to take bets on how many people were double fisting?!?! Greedy bastards J! I’m curious now, how many people do you think get all dolled up to go to both the early and late parties in an effort to get tanked on free booze?

The Captain’s Party was in the Victoria Lounge and included some dancing. For the rest of the week we watched my parents glide across the dance floor on our television screen in that video they were trying desperately to sell. I still don’t fully understand why anyone would want a memorabilia video that is made up mostly of other passengers. It boggles my mind. Now, if you knew everyone on the video that would be a different story.

Notice we parked ourselves right at the bar… I can’t recall whose idea that was, but somebody had their thinking cap on:
