Which Eastern Med Cruise?

We are trying to decide which cruise to do?

 

8 night on RCCL Splendour JS

R/T Venice

10 night Celebrity Equinox Balcony

Rome to Venice

 

Both about the same price, same number of ports

RCCL does Mykonos and Celebrity does Athens

Crown & Anchor members, so we get 3 cruise points

I'd pick the second if only for the fact I can pre and post cruise a couple extra days in two wonderful cities ( Rome and Venice ) versus try to squeeze a single day tour in Rome. Adding Athens is another nic ebonuse too :D as long as the other ports aren't too different. In the end its all about the ports!

I would go with Celebrity for two reasons. One is it is a longer cruise and the longer the better in the Mediterranean. The other thing is I would try to arrive a few days before the cruise to not only get over the jet lag but to see Rome. You'll appreciate the extra time in Rome.

I should add a couple things

 

We did the Western Med on the Voyager last year so we did Rome, the other thing is I am trying to keep it under 2 weeks. Concerns about being gone from work.

 

If we did the Splendour, we would fly in a day and 1/2 early to do Venice and if we did the Equinox we would fly in for the start of the cruise and stay 1 days in Venice as it docks a day early there.
