What is the "45 day letter"

I have read a few references to a "45 day letter" regarding Carnival, and I was wondering what this was. Does anyone know? Is this something you would suggest? Thanks.

Carnival used to send them out a lot, but not so much now. If you sent a letter to Carnival and got one, it would tell you to call in 45 days before your cruise and you got to select a gift.

Oh my gosh. I totally forgot I had one. I am 50 days out and need to call in 5 more days. I still have the letter they sent me from 2005. I guess they will still honor it.

I sent them a glowing email once and got nothing in return. I'm not sure what you have to do to get such a letter but I think it is more than just writing something nice. Maybe it needs to be sent via snail mail, or addressed to someone in particular.

It isn't an automatic thing, and I heard that they have pretty much discontinued it (I do not know if that is true or not). Write when you have something to say, not in order to get the 45-day letter.

 

I've written to Carnival several times (sometimes compliments, sometimes concerns) and received a 45-day letter once. It was a pleasant surprise.

im out of the loop about the 45 day letter:o.

 

in the past i just thought that it was your packet

containing boarding pass, luggage tags and a booklet

listing the excursions..

They should still honor it. I called this Saturday on the 45 day letter that I had and had no problems getting it honored
