  1. Congratulations on your doctorates! That is wonderful! My husband and I will be on the ship with you celebrating our 30th anniversary. There is a Roll Call for this sailing. I know there are slot pulls scheduled 2 different days (the roll call has a post about it). And there is a bar crawl planned for Day 2 starting in Craft Social at 2pm. There is a page on another social platform that has a lot of information as well. This will be our 2nd time on Equinox - we so enjoyed our cabin we stayed in 2019 that we booked it again for this trip! I think this is my husband's 6th Celebrity cruise and it is my 7th. We really enjoy Celebrity! We are flying to Ft. Lauderdale Friday. Only 2 more days of work!!!! 🙂 Hope to see you around the ship!
  2. This is good to know! Bringing my laptop as I might have to do a few work things during our June 24 ABC sailing. And that includes potential WebEx video calls. This brings me a bit of peace knowing I won't have to stress too much about being able to connect if needed. 🙂
  3. Oh how fun! We have never played but are interested in learning. We are on the Equinox June 24th so will have to check it out!
  4. I had my left knee replaced July 21, 2022. SO glad I did! We were on the Beyond's maiden and I could not handle the stairs, and all the walking on excursions 😞 We were in London pre-cruise visiting friends and I couldn't handle an easy, flat mile walk. That trip made me realize I needed to have this taken care of once and for all! And so very happy that I did. We went to St. Lucia for New Year's , are doing a Disney cruise the first week of April and will be on Equinox the end of June for the ABCs. Being able to get around easily and without pain has been such a game changer. I will bring an ice pack just in case I need to ice/elevate after a long day. But for the most part I am doing great. Echo what others have said - do your exercises, listen to your body, and enjoy your trip! (I am 56 and was 55 when I had my surgery)
  5. There isn't - it was an activity that our sommelier told us about (and I think it might have been in the app to sign up for as well). There was a cost for it (worth it!) and on Beyond it was held in Normandy. It was very well attended. I also did the pairings tasting and that was great too. I know food impacts the wine and vice versa. But was fun to have things I don't care for (olives and blue cheese I am looking at you!) and try them with the wine and (begrudgingly) admit that they were not horrible. The premium wine tasting was paired with food as well - just so cool the difference in both the food and wine when tasted together!
  6. We were on the maiden sailing as well (Sky Suite 9125). Loved Luminae and it didn't feel crowded to us. But that could be the times we went to dine. Found the service to be wonderful (Juan Pablo was our waiter and he was fantastic). The food was a little underwhelming but still very good. We wanted to try Le Voyage but it was sold out. We heard mixed reviews on it. However, most loved it, especially the wine pairings. Speaking of wine pairings - we did the premium wine experience with the Cellar Master. So fun and some really great wines - really enjoyed it! We also dined at Cypress (meh), Normandy (LOVED), and Fine Cuts Steakhouse (so good!). We did not dine at Eden but did have lunch at the Eden cafe (off to the left, tucked away, when you are going towards Eden). The food was so good! Great sandwiches and salads. We had a really great time and met some super nice people. I just wish it had been a smidge warmer. We were thankful for the blankets offered - they really helped ward off the cold when attempting to sit on the Magic Carpet or in the Retreat sundeck. The ship is lovely and I really love the bigger, more open design around the martini bar. I have never been a fan of the martini bar (don't care for martini's) and found it way too crowded/uncomfortable on other ships. The new layout is great - lots of seating, great people watching, can see the flair show, and can also enjoy the music. Loved it!
  7. I don't think they have...we were on the Beyond for her maiden sailing and there were over 100 signed up. Nothing. I really enjoyed those and hope they re-start them. Perhaps they are working out the kinks for Covid era sailings.
  8. We are on deck 9 (9215) the floor of the balcony above us covers the balcony. We like shade and protected balconies so not an issue for us. There is sun - it’s just not baking you. We love this suite and location. And for those concerned about the chairs- they are actually comfortable. There isn’t space for a lounger. Agree the table is small for a meal. We only did room service once and sat on the sofa. It worked. Wasn’t perfect but 🤷🏻‍♀️ Made it easier to get to our early excursion. So we were ok with it. (excuse not so great pic - enjoying one last night before we have to leave in the morning to fly back to NC). Overall, this GenX couple loved our experience in the Beyond. 🙂
  9. Uptown was AMAZING! High recommend! We also loved both the shows in the theater and in Eden. The talent and production was very good!
  10. @NutsAboutGolfwe just FaceTimed my mom for her birthday on the Wi-Fi. No issues at all! It could have been the time of day when it was a bit slow - there were many sporting events on at the same time 🤷🏻‍♀️🙂
