Okay guys, frustration is justifiably high for those cruisers who are on the ship and dealing with the major disappointment. There are new posters who may have just heard about CC. Just because they have not been a member on here before, means very little. There are clear guidelines for posting on this board and one of the major things is to treat each other with respect. For both new members and those who have been around for a bit, reading the guidelines is always a good thing. I really don't want to lock this thread but will have to if the constant bickering and personal comments that are not kind continue. Let's please show compassion and respect and everyone please take a deep breath.

I totally understand. Someone on the sailing was kind enough to invite me for a drink and I didn't make it with the unexpected issue of our cabin flooding due to a burst pipe and then having to pack up and change cabins late one night. That really stunk but I rebounded and didn't allow it to ruin my cruise. As they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade! We did have a wonderful cruise besides that. Met some people from my hometown who are now good friends and my husband and I had so much fun with Kerrie and her daughter Erin (We've gotten together since at home.) Had some great meals, great cocktails, really enjoyed the Sanctuary and met some great crew members like we always do. I purchased my FCD on day 2 so must have been enjoying myself. Have fun planning your next sailing and maybe our paths will cross one day.

JamieLogical's Live from the Enchanted Princess 5/4
Host CJSKIDS replied to JamieLogical's topic in Princess Cruises
They are now asking to have it out before dinner time. It was that way on our December Sky sailing and April Enchanted. I was told the reason was that they now like to be able to take the time and separate out the luggage into the right color groups on the ship. It makes it much easier in the am which works well since they are boarding so much earlier now and leaving at 3. -

They were having an off night because we ate there twice two weeks ago and didn't have any issues. Glad the OP was able to have the charges reversed. -

I would love that. Someone had one in the Sanctuary in December on the Sky and the seats right outside of the Sanctuary a few weeks ago had someone that brought it so then we had to listen to their meeting. -

the same chicken fingers that they had at the platinum/elite event one night?! I was surprised to see that's what was being offered. -
You did it correctly! It's now gone from the Sun page and I see you already posted another one of the Star page. Enjoy the planning!!

5/7/24: Princess Expands Caribbean Program
Host CJSKIDS replied to Princess Cruises Fann's topic in Princess Cruises
Thanks for posting this. My first Princess cruise was on the Golden out of San Juan and I did a few more after that. I'll have to check into this as I love the Southern Caribbean. -
I second that!!!

I know many are upset like you about the Star and I understand that. With that being said, Princess actually did give good will. In the past when these mistakes happened on Princess and other lines, they were just canceled and all money was returned. In this case, Princess chose to give comped inside cabins with a chance to upgrade at a discounted price. Now it may not have included the premier or plus package, but it still was a comped cabin along with the deposit becoming OBC as stated for recognition of the inconvenience. Quite a few gambled and hoped it wouldn't be canceled but most, like me grabbing a cabin, knew it was more than likely a mistake. It was posted on here and on the roll call that they could cancel and refund even though cards were charged. It's what we agree to if mistakes are made. There are posters who are used to getting comped cabins, though probably not the reserve mini suites, but there are also many posters who don't get comped cabins or casino offers and hoped for the best. It's a cruise that was booked well over a year away on a ship that isn't even built yet. I'm sure over the 2 nights that it was booked that no one purchased their airfare nor paid for non refundable hotels yet. There was already the threat of forfeiting the deposit as it was payable in full and on non-refundable. Posters said it wasn't a lot and they were willing to lose it. The deposits became refundable and many have already gotten their refunds, though it may have taken a couple of calls or emails and was an inconvenience. It's huge disappointment which is understandable, but they are willing to still give comped cabins, though not the category booked. People were given a choice over a few days to decide what to do. I'm not a cheerleader as many call positive posters who stick up for Princess and will very readily admit when they screw up and they did. Heck, my flooded cabin a week ago on The Enchanted was not handled well AT ALL and I'm not going to blindly stick up for Princess ever. This booking situation was a massive mistake that may not have been handled in the best manner, but at least they tried to do something by offering comped inside cabins with the deposit becoming OBC with a few days to decide what booked people wanted to do whether it was to keep, upgrade and or get a full refund. The person that has been helping, Jenn Wright, really needs kudos as she has been very quick and responsive and shows the best side of a Princess employee. It's too bad that there aren't more like her. I truly hope you do get to sail one day on the Star and get the cruise that you really want at a fantastic price. Thank you for posting your original thread because it gave us all the chance, even fleeting to have booked a great deal.
