  1. Casual Dining on Discovery includes Ocean Terrace (Sushi), O'Malley's (new) and Gigi's Pizza. Gigi's is open every day from 11am - 9:00pm - Ocean Terrace is open for lunch on Sea Days only and dinner from 5:00pm - 9:00pm - Salty Dog Gastropub (now O'Malley's) was open in the evening for dinner but open on Sea Days as The Crab Shack and never at lunch. I'm told O'malley's will be the same.
  2. The chart posted above previously showed The Salty Dog Gastropub on Discovery as open for lunch on Sea Days. While the venue was open the menu was the pop up Crab Shack. This was on 2/24/24 (7nt Mexico) and 3/16/24 (15nt Hawaii) cruises. We were very disappointed and never got a chance to try it. We're just off the 4/27/24 Coastal cruise where we did get to try the menu (in the Crown Grill on Sea Days) as renovations were going on. I think they did that as many were not happy that Salty Dog and Gelato were not available. I asked an officer with quite a few stripes and he said that O'Malley's would be the Crab Shack on Sea Days at lunch. While we wouldn't have done Salty Dog menu for dinner I think we'd give O'Malley's menu a go for dinner. I also asked about the Sabatini's and The Catch location switch and was told Corporate wanted to make deck 7 an Italian themed area. There were some decor changes and new signage during last week and on night 7 ....after dinner service...waiters were were moving lots of carts between the 2 venues. I'm hoping it works well but we like Sabatini's and am not sure how the ambiance will be with having it open on the Piazza. Time will tell.....
  3. O'Malley's Irish Pub debuts on Discovery starting tomorrow, May 4, for this season's 1st Alaska Cruise. Sabatini's and The Catch by Rudi are switching locations. Effective tomorrow May 4 Sabatini's will move up to Deck 7 and The Catch by Rudi is moving downstairs to Deck 5.
  4. We both have Global Entry and will be flying from YVR to LAX. What clearance do we need to do at Vancouver airport?
  5. @LadyZolt thanks for taking us along on your adventure. I've enjoyed all your pictures. We did Ovation in April 2018 and were to have had a stop at Phu My for Saigon. Much to our disappointment....and everyone else on the ship....the Captain told us we could stop due to "port congestion". That was a 1st for us and we've been cruising since 1987. Happy that didn't happen with Serenade.
  6. Shared on another Social Media site by someone currently onboard Discovery.
  7. Many are parked in the hallways. At least for this scooter they can park it outside of the door of the Mini-Suite. The walked could/should be folded and brought inside the cabin but.....This was on our recent Discovery Princess cruise.
  8. Absolutely in a good way. Lots of good, live music, shows and parties in the Piazza area. Example....pre-dinner - music in the Piazza for 45 min, as soon as that stopped there was music in Crooners Bar (one floor up) and after that 45 min set more again in the Piazza. They also had Take 5...a good size Jazz Club plus Crown Bar and the Vista Lounge with live music in all those venues and, in addition, for Vista Lounge some pre-recorded Ballroom dance music every evening.
  9. We're just back from a 15 nt RT Hawaii cruise on Discovery Princess. We've cruised RCI and Celebrity since 1987 and can only say WOW! about the entertainment offerings on Discovery Princess.
  10. Currently on 15nt Hawaii with Premier and it's 2 nts Specialty with Premier.
  11. Wines on Plus Pkg are shown by Varietal. Premier are listed by name. Haven't seen Rombauer or Ferrari Carano by the glass but, in addition to those in the photo we've enjoyed Seghesio Zinfandel and Flowers Chardonnay with Premier pkg. W/Premier pkg Caymus is $8/glass + gratuity and was available in Crown Grill and Salty Dog pub. Another plus is with Premier your wine is served is a bigger, nicer glass.
  12. We found out about the Super Tuscan Dinner from the Sommelier but also saw roving crew selling it, the Caymus Winemaker Dinner and a couple of wine tastings. We're told the Super Tuscan Dinner is only offered occasionally and on sailings longer than 10 days whereas the Caymus Dinner is offered on 7 nt + sailings
  13. We're currently on the 15nt RT Hawaii cruise on Discovery. Last night we enjoyed the Super Tuscan Wine Pairing Dinner in Sabatinis. It was a wonderful experience and we felt a good value at $80pp.
  14. Bringing this post back to the top to ask if anyone has recently brought flowers on in San Pedro?
