Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We sailed on a TA pre Covid with Eddie Jenkins and he had Jayne onboard. He gave her free reign to organize entertainment in the theater with other guest entertainers, musical acts from around the ship as well as some of the talented staff. That turned out to be the best cruise for us in terms of entertainment.
  2. If you're in a suite, and especially an upper suite, it should be doable. I'm sure the day between cruises is very busy down in laundry since they're doing sheets, towels, etc. for the entire ship. When we were in a suite our butler was happy to take our laundry on the last full day (in the morning) and returned it that evening. Just check with him/her once onboard and they should be able to work something out for you.
  3. After 49 cruises with Celebrity and reaching Zenith we are doing our first MSC cruise in January, 25 on the Seaside. We booked the YC to try it out since Celebrity Retreat prices are now in the stratosphere. We still have some future Celebrity cruises booked in regular veranda cabins but we're looking forward to MSC.
  4. I was on the Millennium after they made the changes before Covid and the new locker room had a sauna but it was much smaller and there was no window, only a glass wall looking out to the changing room. Looking into doing the Constellation again but not until 2025. Have a great time on your TA in November!!
  5. Hi Waltbeth, I have not been on the Constellation since February but from what I've read when the ship went into 2 week dry dock, work was only done on the engines, painting and soft good updates (carpeting, some seating, Michaels Club, etc.). Cabins have not been updated, based on what others have reported, and the 10-12 concierge cabins to be built where the current men's locker room & sauna are was not done. So it doesn't seem any refurbishments completed have affected the layout of the locker room/sauna area.
  6. After 49 completed cruises on Celebrity and attaining Zenith we booked for the first time on the MSC Seaside, January, 2025 in the Yacht Club. We wanted to try it out since suites on Celebrity are now so expensive. I've read many pros and cons of MSC and set my expectations accordingly but recently I've read a couple trip reports from former Celebrity cruisers and they were overall very happy with their decisions to sail MSC and will do it again. So that makes me feel more excited for experiencing something different. We still love Celebrity and have 4 cruises booked, but all in regular veranda cabins.
  7. I believe it may have something to do with the fact that both Beyond and Ascent are wider and a bit longer than Edge and Apex. Just something with the interior structure that just isn't quite right on those ships. I would not be surprised if Xcel has the same issue once it sails.
  8. Within the last hour I booked a specialty restaurant on 3 booked cruises using the Loyalty discount and the correct pricing carried all the way through to the purchase.
  9. They have scones (plain & Raisin), clotted cream and a couple types of finger sandwiches. Teas is from the tea bags they have in the buffet.
  10. I think a lot of the recognition on the ships is up to the ship staff themselves. It just seems to be so inconsistent among ships. And I think we would have also been disappointed if there was no recognition. We were pretty fortunate on the Connie last month. We had a wonderful Zenith celebration on the Bridge and were able to invite our friends to join us. Besides receiving the cake, flowers and a model of the ship, the Captain made a very heartfelt toast to us. We were also joined by the other senior officers and the CD (Sue Denning). This was in addition to a comped specialty dinner, champagne and fruit in the room, a Zenith cocktail hour and, another day, a Zenith lunch. There were also other little surprises during the cruise and the Captains Club hosts were exceptional throughout the entire time. If you have not heard anything before your next cruise you should, by all means, reach out to the Zenith desk.
  11. When we went to check in for our first cruise as Zenith last month on the Constellation in Tampa we were a bit hesitant since the sign stated "Suites" and not "Suites and Zenith". We walked up anyway and asked, and they let us through.
  12. This is most likely a pic of another E-Class ship. When we sailed on the Equinox in Retreat there was no bar. As 39august mentioned the staff took orders and went to another bar for them.
  13. Just got off the Constellation last Thursday after a 12-night cruise. Elite Happy Hour lounge was on 3 evenings in the Reflections Lounge on deck 11. Otherwise, you can go to any bar during the 12 nights from 5-7. Although we could have we didn't make use of the lounge.
  14. We just got off the 12 day Mardi Gras cruise Thursday on Constellation. We are Zenith and boarded with Suite guests.
  15. I might be mistaken but I thought the Zenith perk of an Aqua cabin was only when reaching double Zenith.
