Trevi Fountain Restoration Completed!

The water and the lights are back on as of yesterday, November 3rd.

The English-language article from ANSA doesn't mention it but the write up on the front page of the city of Rome's web site brags that the work was planned to require 20 months but was completed in only 17.

For anyone interested a website I enjoyed checking prior to my cruise from Rome this year was a live cam website. In this link it is to the Trevi Fountain though you can also check work on the Spanish steps.

I liked to check sometimes at various times of the day or night. We stayed at hotel in the Pantheon Piazza so it was nice to people watch from afar :).

Yay !!!!! We were there last May with our son and daughter in law and it just wasnt the same to throw a coin into …….. as on our previous visits.

But we will be back next September and I look forward to the "new and improved" Trevi - one of my favorite spots in Rome. We like to get a gelato and sit and people watch :)

We visited the Trevi fountain on 13-Nov-2015 and it looks fabulous. All bright and extra white again.
