Just off 2/14 Liberty sailing...

In the diamond lounge and suite lounge they had some chocolate covered doughnuts that I loved! Didn't taste exactly like doughnuts from home, but still good. I would think that they have them in the windjammer too.

I don't know for sure. DW thinks it is a strip . It was on the mdr menu where you could order a steak from Chops and they would bring it to you in the mdr. It was just called the "Nolan Ryan " steak. She had it when we were on NOS in 2014. She loves steak, she said this was by far the best steak she has had on board. I don't care for steak but it sure looked very good even to me.

I know someone who works at the port. They say the cruise terminal that Royal Caribbean uses is being expanded. The only effect it has on passengers currently is that if you get to the terminal earlier in the morning you will go to a climate controlled tent to wait until it is your time to board. The construction at the terminal will be ongoing until May.

Thx for the update Tim. It's been one delay after another. I was really hoping the last rumor of an April completion would hold true. Well hopefully it will be ready by our Nov cruise.

I posted an extensive review of my experience at Galveston in this forum as well as my Liberty 2/14 to 2/21 cruise.

 

As far as Sabor was concerned, it was great food, but very slow service.

Maybe Texas law says that adding a lime puts the drink in the "super enhanced cocktail" category, and a whole different set of laws kicks in. :rolleyes:

The wife had the Ultimate, I had the Premium. We never ran into a situation of ordering drinks at a higher cost than the pkg would cover. We ordered top shelf for everything as well. Patron, Gentleman Jack, Titos, Grey Goose,

 

You'll need to do the math for your level of drinking. Figure $12/drink, add bottled water @ $4 ea.

 

Goodtime Thanks for taking the time to start this thread, it has been very informative. We are sailing in May and have not been on RC for a couple years. My question is on the new drink pricing, I do believe that you provided the answer above but want to make sure. I will have Gentleman Jack and the wife will have Goose and we continue to look at the drink packages. By your earlier post these two mixed drinks are going to be $12 now? If so the Premium package is a sure bet. Guess that shows how long it has been for us, last cruise they were $8.

Bob, unfortunately it was not an option for us on our cruise at the MDR. As mentioned, the Nolan Ryan brand of beef is from the man himself. Nolan Ryan is from Alvin, TX. If you don't recognize his name, is was a very successful MLB baseball player and is a Hall of Famer. Anyway, after retiring, he did very well in banking and ranching. He now has his own brand of beef, all organic, and is sold in local super markets throughout Texas. His steaks were offered on the Naviagator as an upcharge in the MDR, and Chops too. I was hoping to get another on the Liberty but it was not offered.

Actually, you should figure agot $10 + the 18% abouttuity, which is why I suggested the $12. You'll have a great time on the Liberty. Enjoy your cruise.
