mamamoes Posted April 27, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 27, 2014 We get off the Allue in the am and our flight doesn't leave til 6pm. We are a family of 6 with 4 older teens. Can you recommend anything? I've been to trip advisor and nothing is popping out at me! Thanks Nanci

Ourusualbeach Posted April 27, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 27, 2014 Everglades airboat ride. We did this in March. A great way to spend half a day.
caneguy Posted April 27, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 27, 2014 totally agree. Look for Everglades Holiday Park. There is usually a Groupon for that place. Airboat rides, alligators, etc... When is your cruise In the summer you have to watch for the afternoon thunderstorm and/or very hot and humid.

Thanks Nanci Once we had the cruise organized tour to spent time before airport to see along the Intracoastal Waterway and into Port Everglades - mansions and yachts. We liked it a lot.. KMagz Posted April 27, 2014 #7 Share Posted April 27, 2014 Also consider the Water Taxi. Ride it as much or as little as you'd like. Hop off for lunch. Back on for some more sightseeing. You'll need to find a way to store your luggage however. http://www.watertaxi.com/watertaxi/fort-lauderdale/

lgonquin Posted April 27, 2014 #9 Share Posted April 27, 2014 Everglades airboat ride. Has anyone done this thru RCI? Considering doing this after our cruise. Wondering if people have any feedback. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
BlueHerons Posted April 28, 2014 #10 Share Posted April 28, 2014 I would only do the Everglades November through April because May through October the mosquitos are horrific. Giant black swarms will almost eat you alive. I send the recommendation for either the Carrie B, Jungle Queen or the water taxi.
Rare LMaxwell Posted April 28, 2014 #11 Share Posted April 28, 2014 I send the recommendation for either the Carrie B, Jungle Queen or the water taxi. I will nominate those as well; relaxing, comfortable way to see some multi-million dollar homes, learn some history/trivia, no schlepping out to the everglades. It's already getting hot and a bit muggy here, I would rather be on the ICW than in the Everglades at this time of year myself.

We were on the boat all day yesterday and it was summer. Even the ocean temp is no longer refreshing, it's balmy.

Cruiser Who Knows Nothing Posted April 29, 2014 #14 Share Posted April 29, 2014 Our flight doesn't take off until 8p, so we are getting a room at the Marriott Beach Place (not towers) and spending the day there. It was $108. We can swim, have lunch, relax, take a shower and then head to FLL.
