Inn at the Market/Andra

Deciding between these two hotels for our 3 day, late July pre-cruise stay in Seattle. Inn at the Market is a bit more expensive. Never been to Seattle as tourists, so we will be doing all the basic tourist things during the day. Low key evenings, dinner and drinks. Any advice would be appreciated.

Both are great places. The Inn at the Market has both water-view and "city-side" rooms; the ones facing east (to the city) tend to be noisier than those facing west. The Inn is obviously right in (well, technically half a block uphill from) the market so it's surrounded by restaurants etc., also by many many thousands of people during the day. The Andra is located a bit closer to the commercial core, monorail, light rail tunnel etc., and its in-house restaurant, Lola, is very good. (It's one of local chef-celebrity Tom Douglas' places.)

Either one would be great, but for a little experiment have a look at the Mayflower Park - http://www.mayflowerpark.com/ - which is even more conveniently located than the Andra, and which sometimes can be a bit cheaper with no reduction in quality at all - maybe a bit nicer, in fact.

Inn at the Market is fabulous. Were there last summer in a top floor room with private balcony overlooking market and harbor. Went to the market and brought back a bunch of wine and appetizers and enjoyed the sunset and balcony for hours. Pricy ... but Beautiful!!!
