MSC Divina Yacht club & cabin questions

So I just booked Cabin #16015 (Yacht club) on the MSC Divina. The only other rooms available are 16009 & 16013

Questions:

1) Does anyone have the exact dimensions of each of these rooms above, 16015, 16009, 16013 & the balcony size ? Comparing them to other balcony rooms, they seem pretty similar in size, not much bigger

2) 16th floor- is there a concierge on the floor -looks like they are mostly on the 15th from what I can see-.I have always "snuck" glasses of wine from my cabin into the bars & restaurants on other cruises & would like to know if this is possible to do from the yacht club? Is there only one place to get a drink? If I take a glass of wine to my 16th floor cabin & then take the elvator on the 16th floor would I be questioned?

3) We have friends on the cruise that will not be in the yacht club, can we invite them to our room?

4)Looks like some cabins are the same price YC1 on the 16th floor however look bigger ( not including the categy YC3)- are there some a lot bigger ( other than wheelchair) for the same price?

Thanks!

Having sailed in the YC twice with #3, 4, and 5 upcoming, I can answer a couple of your questions...

The largest cabins by far are the 'square' cabins...there are four on the 15th deck and 4 on the 16th deck unless you are lucky enough to score a YC3. We have stayed in 15028 twice with our third time coming up in three weeks and I can tell you most definitely they are much bigger than the other YC1's, and are the same price. However, sometimes you can only obtain them if you have 3 or 4 passengers. I've heard it is hard to come by with only two. (We are a three person family so no problem getting one.) Concierge is only on the 15th deck. You can definitely take your drinks you obtain from the Top Sail Lounge or the One Bar anywhere on the ship. I simply went back upstairs if I needed a refill if I was in another part of the ship...no problem whatsoever. It is generally frowned upon to bring others to your room that are not in YC. I've not done it, but I know others have. If they are 'caught', they are asked to leave. You might want to ask the concierge about this. I have heard you can purchase a day pass for your friends but don't know if this is true. I'm pretty sure the three cabins you are inquiring about are the same size. You will love Yacht Club. We are counting the days!

Had a YC2.

Went to the CruiseCritic meeting. 4 officers showed up but only 1 other couple besides us :O(

Anyway...the officers just left & we were talking to the other couple. They were VERY unhappy with the cruise & said they would never cruise MSC again. They had a balcony cabin.

We invited them to see our cabin. I didn't even think that they might not be allowed. No one said anything to us when we got there.

The were extremely impressed with the yacht club. After our visit, they went to guest services and asked, and were given, for the whole yacht club experience tour.

Now they love MSC.

I know it is a lot more money than the other cabins but for what you get, no other cruiseline matches.

You WILL love the Yacht Club...private bar by the private pool (and private hot tubs), exclusive panoramic, quiet bar on the 15th deck. Not a care in the world - take a cocktail from the bar anywhere on board. It's also a little cool to be a snob for a few days: Standing by your private pool-side bar trying to ignore 'commoners' who curiously pull on the glass door, trying to get into your little paradise; or using your elevator key to gain express access to your floor. When others ask why the elevator didn't stop at their floor, you just respond with "I have a magic card" or some other flippant remark. When you have lunch in the private restaurant and see everyone through the windows jockeying for chairs around the main pool you'll chuckle with delight at the decision you made to be in the Yacht Club. Those rooms you were mentioning ARE no larger that normal veranda cabins, but the rest of the experience is fantastic.

A few more questions.

I'd like to take my 86 year old mom.

Does the elevator go to the YC pool deck?

How hard is it to get in and out of the bath tub? Or is it a stall shower?

We both prefer simple, plain food. Does Muse have an everyday menu of grilled chicken, steak, and fish?

Thank you.

We found the staff at LeMuse willing to cater to our needs. I love seafood and fancy and was in heaven. My husband found it a little more challenging as he does not eat seafood and often 3/4 entrees had some sort of fish or seafood (or asparagus which he also hates). But he loved the filet and the pasta from the always available menu, although at the end of 2 weeks he was craving more options. My daughter is EXTREMELY limited in what she will eat and was very anious about LeMuse. When we discussed it with the maître d on the first day, he said if he had to go to the buffet himself to get food from the kids corner for her, he would so that we could eat together as a family. Every meal she had 2 courses of plain mashed potatoes (so that she could eat at the same time as us) and then she had mashed potatoes and a plain filet cooked to its death. "Of course madam" put her at ease. If you have special requests, make them. We found them to be very accommodating.

Yes, the elevator goes to the YC pool deck.

It is a full bathtub in the bathroom that you must step over and into just like a regular tub. Might be a bit of a challenge for her. Perhaps you should look into the YC handicapped rooms?

Le Muse does primarily serve fancy food, but I'm sure the wait staff would accommodate you if you let them know ASAP (right when you board) that you are plain food folks and I am sure they will do whatever necessary to make you happy. They are amazing and awesome!

Has anyone ever called their butler while shopping or walking around the ship to get you a drink from the Yacht Club vice you having to go all the way back and get it yourself? Have they been accommodating?

No, would never do that...the butlers are amazingly hard working folks and I would never dream of asking them to deliver me a drink on another part of the ship...besides, I'm pretty sure that is not in their job description!

I am sure there is a limit to what they will do...unless you are royalty !

But seriously...you must go to the the Yacht Club cocktail lounge yourself.

Also, your mini bar in your cabin is complementary so you could fix your own drink & take it with you.

If you are in the main areas of the ship (outside the yacht club) and order a drink, you will be charged the same as any other passenger.

We travelled YC in the Med last year. Only had a few drinks outside in other bars (except the casino). This next cruise I have booked a package of 18 drinks for $101 so we can drink outside the YC on occasions. Will probably buy at least one more package on board (unless I get comped in the casino again). Couldn't be bothered traipsing through the public areas & lifts with a drink in hand, and my wife would definitely not let me do that!!

We go on holiday (vacation) to spoil ourselves after working hard all year and as long as we get ""perceived" value for money we are happy to pay a bit extra.

I asked for comped drinks in the casino and after a quick check of my betting rate and a chat to the dealer (who I had been tipping) the manager agreed to free drinks "but only for you and your wife..."

With YC you have to drink in the special bars to get included? I thought that if you were out and about the ship you had at least equivalent to the Allegrissimo package.

On our recent MSC Preziosa cruise, we were told that outside the YC, no complimentary drinks. So we didn't drink anything outside the YC areas.

There are 3 of these cabins. The middle one is smaller with a smaller bathroom like the Yc1 & 3 (shower over tub)

This is one of the reasons we like the YC2...I know..12th deck...no balcony.

The bathroom is twice the size with 2 sinks, a full separate shower with jets and a large separate bath tub.

We have 12001 (YC2) this March. There are tradeoffs. Last March we had a YC3 at the top of the stairs right above the lounge. Location was fabulous but smaller room & bathroom.

Balcony basically unusable.

We too, are older. Opted for the YC2 again for this year but have already booked our old YC3 for 2017 for the location I feel my mobility might start to get compromised.

For those who have not seen a YC2 or 3....try to.

I know the price is higher but you get 2 totally separate rooms that close off with solid doors. The YC2 also has a separate dressing table area by the large walkin closet.

There are very few of these cabins on the ship. 3 YC2 and 2 YC3. That is why we book ahead. We are fortunate to have some leeway in our travel time so I can search several dates until I find one available.
