Where's the Lime ?

[FONT=Arial][SIZE=2]Lime growers in the Mexican state of Michoacan have reduced their supply because of unrest caused by drug cartels and flooding from heavy rains. That, combined with drought in California and an overall growing demand for limes for margaritas, tacos and other dishes, has driven up prices to a three-year high.

The average advertised price of a lime in US supermarkets was 56 cents last week, according to the US Department of Agriculture. That's up from 37 cents the week ending March 28 and 31 cents a year ago.

I thought about taking some with me on our cruise next week, but I was told that we can't take them and if we are able to get them on board we would have to find a way to cut them ourselves since the bartenders won't help. Mojitos with no limes? Don't think so! I have heard so much about this problem so I checked my grocery store. They are currently $1.79 each!!
