davecttr Posted August 30, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 30, 2017 If Explorer is indeed in the Canaries it will give me another option for a winter xmas 18 or early January 19 cruise. I normally use P&O but would like a change.
jake 26 Posted August 31, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 31, 2017 My guess is that Explorer will go to the Canaries from the Med and then go onto a new destination (Dubai or beyond?) and Dream will home port in Tenerife, just as the arrangement is for D2 this year. D2 is in the Canaries until Nov 10 17, then Dream takes over for the winter while D2 goes to Jamaica.
davecttr Posted August 31, 2017 #9 Share Posted August 31, 2017 Pity, I don't really care for Dream. Maybe they should consider getting rid of her and Celebration as when Mein Schiff 2 arrives Dream and Celebration will look like poor alternatives to the other four. Maybe they should consider getting rid of her and Celebration as when Mein Schiff 2 arrives Dream and Celebration will look like poor alternatives to the other four. I agree. Many people do like the Dream but in my view there is a vast difference between her and the latest additions to the fleet. The Discoveries appear to be getting quite a fan base of new cruisers and converts to TUI/Thomson.
Vitalsign Posted August 31, 2017 #11 Share Posted August 31, 2017 We love Dream since Waters Edge was refitted and as it's cheaper to travel on her than the Discoveries very happy Although we are giving Discovery 2 a try twice next year Thomson Spirit Oct 2005 Repo Palma to Sharm el Sheikh Thomson Celebration Jan 2007 Red Sea Magic Ocean VillageFeb 2008 Western Caribbean & Central America Ocean VillageAug 2008 Eastern Med Ocean Village 2 Feb 2009 Eastern Caribbean Ocean VillageMar 2010 Eastern Caribbean Thomson Dream Feb 2011 Eastern Caribbean & Cuba Thomson Celebration Aug 2011 Eastern Med Thomson Celebration Apr 2012 Red Sea Magic Thomson CelebrationApr/May 2012 Repo Sharm el Sheikh to Marmaris Thomson Dream Feb 2013 EasternCaribbean Thomson MajestyNov/Dec 2014 Colourful Coasts Canaries Thomson Dream Jan/Feb 2015 Western Caribbean Panama & Cuba Thomson Dream Apr 2015 Transatlantic Sunset Thomson MajestyJune 2015 Hellenic Classics Thomson Celebration Sept 2015 Adriatic Affair Thomson DreamJan 2016 Mayan Treasures/Cuban Revolution Thomson DreamApril 2016 Atlantic Adventure Thomson DreamJune 2016 Iconic Islands/Adriatic Explorer Thomson CelebrationJan 2017 Cities of Gold Thomson DreamApril2017 Atlantic Daydream Thomson SpiritJune 2017 Classical Greece Thomson Majesty Sept2017 Med Medley/Treasures of Med Thomson CelebrationJan 2018 Caribbean Gems/Coral Islands Tui Discovery 2April 2018 Cuban Fusion Tui Discovery 2 April 2018 Atlantic Discoveries Tui Discovery 2June 2018 Aegean Meze Thomson DreamSept 2018 Mediterranean Medley

Vitalsign Posted September 1, 2017 #14 Share Posted September 1, 2017 Maybe a Discovery in Dubai might get more sales The other lines seem to sell theirs my friend and I really enjoyed our cruise on Celebration in January and hubby was hoping they'd be going again as he'd like to go We would have liked to do the repositioning cruise from Dubai back to the Med
Colbrit Posted September 2, 2017 #15 Share Posted September 2, 2017 I have a feeling of new destination - on Facebook they were saying some captains spoke of Asia? That ties in with a winter destination for one of the ships - think of those Repositionals.

jake 26 Posted September 2, 2017 #17 Share Posted September 2, 2017 Legend of the Seas (D2) used to homeport in Singapore and did the Straits of Malacca cruise calling at Malacca, Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, and Phuket plus the Java Sea. Given that Thomson use lots of Phuket resorts it would make sense to offer cruise and stay from that region.
